Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, light hoppy, orange, light yeasty, toffee. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. (010108)

Apr 23, 2007 Cask, The Central, St Andrews. Gold to copper with a thin white head. Floral, fruity aroma, some hop / malt balance. Mouth is fruity, hoppy, with some malt playing at the end. Finishes very bitter, dry and clean. Pretty straightforward.

Feb 13, 2006 Not bad, a little bitter, but after all it is its name. Was not boring, not heavy foam, but it stayed there for long. Good though.

Feb 13, 2006 Cask conditioned at The Kings Head, Bayswater, London. Amber coloured with fine bubbly head. It’s all about appearance this beer, very much a low flavoured, aromad beer, some hoppiness, dryishh bitterness over a sweet malty body, overall quite thin with a burnt biscuit background.
