3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Bierkrug (1641) - Idar-Oberstein (In Senegal), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - NOV 6, 2011
500 ml bottle picked up in Germany. Pours a brownish-gold color with a fluffy but quickly-dissipating white head. Aroma was heavy malt with dark fruit. Taste is malt, dark fruit, with honey and vanilla. Hops barely detectable, though there was a slight, crisp finish. Smooth creamy palate. Nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed this.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2012 Bottle. Deep golden colour with a white head. Rich malty nose. Also a rich malt and caramel flavour. Light fruity and hoppy
2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 banner001 (23) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 10, 2011
Look - Thin head, low carbonation, golden yellow colour. Aroma - Quite sweet and hoppy, slight caramel hint. Taste - What! Its like drinking sugar, very sweet, almost no taste other than sugar...strange. No bitterness at all, which is a dissapointment, it really needs some kind of flavour to take away from the sugar.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 mansquito (1607) - washington, Washington DC, USA - OCT 10, 2011
Blackhawk VFW, Chicago 500ml ($4): Pours a amber color with a big white head. I was dreading what the aroma could be and I hoped it was as dissimilar from Baltika 9 as could be. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad, but still had that weird strong lager smell to it. Taste is pretty subdued for a strong lager. You have just a little hint of that grossness that usually accompanies this style, but for the most part this was smooth sailing. Also, my hangover did not happen. That is a good thing.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 pushkinwow (739) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 1, 2011
500ml bottle. Orange gold with a white head. Candied malts, almost cloying, sugar, light caramel, bit stale. Low carbonation, light on the palate, stale caramel and sugar on the finish with a bit of bitterness that evens things out. Not as bad as I thought it would be but not that great.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SanfordBrewer (1205) - Sanford, Florida, USA - SEP 24, 2011
Translucent golden amber with a thin ring of white head; medium body with carbonation.
Aroma: sweet pale malt, fruity alcohol esters, spicy floral hops.
Taste: sweet toasty pale malt, complex fruity tones, spicy woodsy hops, and a nutty note.
Like a German Helles, but with warm fermentation esters.

Bottle. Reddish colour, not a lot of character in aroma or taste, but it’s a little sweet. Not a horrible beer.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 kjc51478 (277) - Cologne, GERMANY - AUG 4, 2011
500ml Bottle. Appearance is brownish color with medium, beige head. Aroma is mild with mostly sweet and roasted malts and some caramel. Taste is sweet with toast, caramel, and roasted grains as the main elements - slightly metallic on the front end. Some hop bitterness giving it some balance. Palate is medium-bodied, somewhat thin texture, average carbonation, mild bitter finish. A decent brew.
