Also known as Frankenheim Alt
Frankenheim Private Brewery was founded in Düsseldorf in 1873, when Heinrich Frankenheim laid the foundation stone for one of the most popular top-fermented dark beer specialities in the Rhineland, Altbier.
The company is now in the hands of Frankenheim's great-grandchildren, but the corporate philosophy handed down until today has remained: "Nothing is so good that it couldn't be improved".
The pub right next to the brewery's administration offices is a frequent gathering place for fans of the top-fermented beer.
The success story of the Düsseldorf speciality Frankenheim Alt continues today among young, trend-conscious target groups with the introduction of Frankenheim blue, an Altbier-cola mix that has attained a high degree of popularity even outside of the Rhineland.
