Belanglos. 7/7/6/6/9/6

BBD 6/8/16. Pours a clear golden. Outstanding head volume, world class lacing and retention. Rather weak nose of light biscuit and light hops. Medium body with a smooth texture that has some creamy aspects. Normal carbonation level with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice prickly finish. The flavor profile is outstanding due to it’s total absence of off flavors and perfect balance. Intensity lacks a bit and this beer is not very complex. It begins with a slightly sweet biscuit base that has some grainy aspects, but is not cracker like. Soft subtle pear notes float over biscuit. The middle brings a soft herbal hop flavor and bitterness. The finish is a slow fade of the middle with subsiding biscuit and a hint of alcohol.

Clear golden body with a thin yet clinging white head. Inviting aroma of malt and caramel sweetness. The palate is smooth and clean but a little thin. Nice clean taste with the malt taking center stage. There is a slight hoppy bite at the end. A good, very drinkable Octoberfest.

Clear golden, bubbly, with a white head. Malt and yeast aroma. Mild hop character, a little earthy. Not bad.

.5L draft on tap at Gustavs. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. A big sweet fruity biscuit nose. Sweet toasted malts, caramel, light fruit. Very dough like sweet. Decent.

Nice, clean amber body with white head. Aroma is faint, with subtle sweetness. Taste is strong, sweet grains and roast caramel, a little too front loaded. Finish is mostly clean with some bitterness. Not what I was expecting and a bit disappointed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour from a 11.2 oz bottle. Pale amber brew just a shade or two darker than a lager. Aroma of caramel and a little grass. Taste is mild sweet caramel up front, a bit of grass emerging, ends with a slightly astringent finish and the same caramel notes that emerged with the first sip. Tasty enough.

Fresh from tap at local Oktoberfest: Appeared a sparkling golden liquid with minimal formation of foam head. Aroma is faint but any scents that do come through resemble strong smell of wheat grains and hay. The drink has a similar taste as my nose detected but a fuller body of grains, cereals, and oat finishes the beer up. Easily quaffable marzen but doesn’t exactly stand out from any of the other golden oktoberfest biers I have sampled in the past.

Definitely not impressed. For a 200+ old German brewery this was very bland with little aroma or taste. Poured a beautiful golden with a small head but tasted like two year old flat fest. Disappointed
