3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
poured from a 11.02 oz. dark brown glass bottle (nice and cold) into a dimpled mug. an unassuming aroma; a color depth between gold and tan; a most scrumptious taste; light palate and over it all, i like this. wish this marzen would be available year’round, round here, but it ain’t. so, when it is here, take advantage.
cheaper, too, than them other marzens are, too.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Die Bierstube. Bittering, sweet. Touch syrupy lager, ok grain bittering over light color and tall, heavy cream. Ok drinker.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Downtown Discount Beverage. Aroma is noble hops, champagne-like yeast, and bready malt. Appearance is clear golden yellow with nice sparkle, 1/2 finger-width foamy white head with poor retention and light lacing. Taste is lightly sweet fruit with noble hop bitter 2nd half. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with sticky texture, lively carbonation and light bitter finish. Overall, it’s fine but doesn’t have a lot of heft to it.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
DATE TASTED: November 25, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Warsteiner pokal... OCCASION: a nightcap in preparation for Thanksgiving... APPEARANCE: slightly darker gold than the original, with the same classic white soapsuds topping its body; menial effervescence; head becomes rocky and collects reasonable lacing...AROMA: definite fruitiness to start--almost the scented cassettes I would listen to in the eighties?--with a tortilla-like breadiness pervading.... PALATE: mostly a thin, medium-bodied, drinkable body that leaves a malty lingering aftertaste--not inviting the next sip...TASTE: biscuit and bready dough beg a bitter,, semi-sweet experience... faint caramel and hops cannot balance the profile, and the nutty undertones do not develop substantially...OVERALL: slightly heavier and less crisp than the original, the Warsteiner version of the Oktoberfest pushes more malt but loses any chance of being refreshing or balanced; likewise, the malt is thin, which makes the experience not only unbalanced but also not worthwhile...drinkable, yes...worthy of being sought out? not so much...

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a dark hay color. It looks like a lager. It’s a lot lighter than all the other marzens I’ve had. It’s clear. About one finger white head. No retention, and no lacing.
Aroma is toasted malt, biscuity. It says on the bottle that it has hop extract, and I smell the "hop extract." I recall one other beer that had hop extract and that same smell, and flavor for that matter. It does have some slightly sweet aroma, but other than that, there’s not much else to say about it.
I taste that hop extract stuff. It’s just a pungent concentrate, like it’s not blended real well. You’ll know what I mean It’s more bitter than I expect from a marzen. It’s malty, it’s pretty sweet, but hop flavor, bleh. Maybe some nuttiness in there. It doesn’t really taste that much like a marzen.
Mouthfeel is pretty good. Medium mouthfeel, clean and dry finish. It’s easy drinking, and sessionable.
Overall, it’s not great. Doesn’t taste like an oktoberfest to me. Well, as I let it warm up, it gets a little better. I don’t really recommend this. German or not, pick something else.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
WarPours very clear oranges yellow with a nice soapy thick off-white head. Aroma is corn and caramel malts and noble hops. Taste largely follows but is quite weak for a Fest. More like a slightly malt-amped traditional German lager. Slight hop bitterness to close. Drinkable if you like German lagers, but not memorable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Six pack gift. I’m not an Oktoberfest fan but I enjoyed these beers. Clean, crisp malty marzen flavor. Clear light gold color.
