Bottle. The pour was a medium crystal clear amber/orange with an average sized (1-2 finger) rocky head that dissipated quickly and had poor lacing. The aroma was kind of sweet with a strong grain malt, a mild floral hop and a sweet moldy scented yeast that had a very mild hint of caramel. The taste was malty sweet and mildly acidic in the beginning and finished slightly bitter with a sweet caramel malt flavor and had a mild alcohol tinge at the end, The flavor stuck around for a decent amount of time after the swallow allowing for further enjoyment of the malty sweetness. Mouthfeel was light in body and mildly dry in texture with a prickly carbonation. Overall a brew that somewhat is in alignment with the style, although it was a little light in flavor for a typical Märzen.

Bottle (actually 3 bottles in a Masskrug). Nutty toffee malt and hay aroma. Amber with moderate head. Mildly sweet nutty toffee malt and mildly bitter herbal quinine and hay flavor. Moderate body. Pretty good.

Pours a medium yellow color with thick white head that sticks around for a little bit. Aroma of a bit of bready sweet malt that isn’t very characteristic of the style. Flavor matches with a deep bitterness that I wasn’t expecting. Not a big fan, but drinkable.

12 ounce bottle from Wegman’s Lake Manassas. Hazy pale golden, large foamy white head, decent retention. Aroma of skunk and grainy malt. The taste is caramel, raisin. Thin.

A Helles Octoberfest: don’t expect a copper or rich amber color. It is in the Octoberfest style since it is maltier and a tad sweeter than regular Warsteiner (Premium Verum). The alcohol content is not 5% but is listed at 5.9%. This is a nice beer for those that like Helles styled Octoberfest brew.

11.2 oz 2014 bottle a few days past the 2015 BB date. Looks as it should, with lots of visible carbonation rising thru a clear amber body to form a thick white head. Ample lacing is left on the glass. Skunky, but I allow some tolerance for this given the dating. Less malty than typical for style.

Lost rating from last fall. Pours clear gold with a fluffy white head. Quite biscuity but otherwise somewhat bland.

Nice and sweet, put still crisp and smooth, easy drinker. Almost clear golden body, light wispy head, totally cereal, sweet malt throughout

Pours a medium yellow with a thin lasting white head. The nose is sweet malt. Body is medium with an unctuous quality. Palate is upfront malt with the speciality malt adding to its flavor and a slight but lingering bitterness. Alcohol content is 5.9% not the 5% listed. 11.2 oz bottle.

Wasn’t was I was hoping for with an octoberfest. It was light on flavor, palette, and everything. Lager feel
