Bottle. The pour was a medium crystal clear amber/orange with an average sized (1-2 finger) rocky head that dissipated quickly and had poor lacing. The aroma was kind of sweet with a strong grain malt, a mild floral hop and a sweet moldy scented yeast that had a very mild hint of caramel. The taste was malty sweet and mildly acidic in the beginning and finished slightly bitter with a sweet caramel malt flavor and had a mild alcohol tinge at the end, The flavor stuck around for a decent amount of time after the swallow allowing for further enjoyment of the malty sweetness. Mouthfeel was light in body and mildly dry in texture with a prickly carbonation. Overall a brew that somewhat is in alignment with the style, although it was a little light in flavor for a typical Märzen.

Pours a clear amber color with off-white head. Caramel malt, roasted malt, and some wheat on the nose; follows onto the palate.

The body has a deep golden color with lots of nice carbonation and great clarity. A small bright white and loosely packed head sits on top but it quickly disappears and leaves no lacing behind. The nose has light malt with a touch of toasted biscuit and some nice floral/perfume like hops. Also noticeable is a hard mineral water note in the nose. The flavor has the same toasted biscuity malt and floral hops in the nose with mineral sweetness up front that quickly turns dry by the finish. The palate has a light to medium body with smooth yet active carbonation.

Malty aroma that goes with the light orange appearance and thin white head.Taste of toasted malt lite bittering hops and mild carbonation.a good solid marzen but in my opinion the Sam Adams Oktoberfest is better.still very good to get me through summer.

330 ml bottle into dimpled mug, best before 5/28/2014. Pours slightly cloudy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of honey, bread, cracker, pear, apple, grape, floral, grass, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Ok aromas with solid balance of malt, hop, and yeast ester notes; with decent strength. A bit too much yeast fruitiness in the nose. Taste of honey, bread, cracker, light caramel, floral, grass, pear, apple, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Slight herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, bread, cracker, light caramel, floral, grass, pear, apple, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish. Nice balance and robustness of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy and very smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good Oktoberfest style. Good balance and robustness of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Smells almost identical to their Premium Verum (popcorn malts). Flavor is also quite similar, though there is some toast and a slight bit of nuttiness to distinguish it as an Okto. Still, this is mostly like their grassy, somewhat hoppy pils, and unless paying very close attention, it would be easy to mistake this for Premium Verum. Not the best example of an Okto by any stretch. Warsteiner should put more effort into making this different.

Bottle. Pours a transparent golden amber with thin foamy head. Aroma of sour yeast, wheat and barley. Taste is sour, wheat, bready with a slightly bitter finish. Very light Mouthfeel. Has a pilsner/watery Oktoberfest taste. Not much body to this beer, light taste, too much bitterness and sourness with the finish.

Location: Draft at Dorrian’s Red Hand, 11/3/13

Aroma: Nice, clean malty aroma, on the light side, with caramel and bready notes
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a nice sized white head and some light lace
Flavor: The taste is along the same line, clean and malty, a little sweet, but not overly sweet
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a crisp, clean feel, and a smooth finish
Overall Impression: Solid example of the style. It is clean and easy drinking, which makes for a nice overall feel, even if the flavors aren’t all that exciting.

On Tap in Seattle .. OK Oktoberfest beer, and much better than the regualr Warsteiner but still not as good as some of the other german Oktoberfest options .... probably would not buy again

I really enjoy this beer. It got a great rich flavor and I have to say its the best Oktoberfest beer out there.
