UPDATED: MAR 5, 2003 Smooth with a medium feel and roasty malt flavor over all. Nice body. Malt in the nose, but not much else. In a session, with a meal, very good. Unremarkable overall. Quality but without distinction. Props for being easy to find.

This one pours a clear, dark brown color with a small, tan, rapidly dissipating head. It has very light toasty, malty aroma. Light bodied and light flavored as well, it is slightly malty, with a clean finish and just a bit of lingering sweetness. There is nothing spectacular about this one, but it is not bad and fairly drinkable.

Descent dark. Nothing too special here. Some spicy bock-like notes, thin body. A little tastier to me than the standard Verum.

Some interesting herbal (tobacco) notes, a fair but sweet malt backbone, but basically boring fare.

Dark brown, decent head. Very thin, weak mouthfeel - I was immediately disappointed when it hit my tongue. The dark malts were nice. Drinkable but unremarkable.

I actually liked this a lot, and I'm not sure why. Easy to drink dark beer. Worth the $2 pint.

This should have been bottled in a green bottle. Perhaps it was just my experience with it, but it was way too sour and skunky tasting. I would not mind trying it again, and hopefully have a better experience.

Dark with little head. Nice clean and moderately rich in flavor. A great slightly above average bar beer.

(3Jan2002--12oz. bottle) I barely have anything written down for this one, so it was not particularly memorable. A bock-like beer. Effervescent. Sour. Notes of baking soda.

Watery. Just a standard dark beer. Not much more to say.
