1L mega pour on tap at biergaten haus on H St DC. Pours a clear deeper ruby. Foamy, soapy tan foam. Okay retention. Nose is small soap with relatively rich hazelnut, chocolate, and coffee for style. Overtones of diet cola. Taste continues the diet cola taste with moderate malt silkiness, hazelnut, sweet chocolate. Palate is a bit soapy and odd. Not quite rich or clean enough.

The 2012 New Braunfels Wurstfest was a very packed but a lively event - this was a bold dark "traditional" event beer for us- fresh and rich and it paired well with the Brats and sauerkraut! Prost

Shared tonight by Dan, thanks for the opportunity.
Pours a solid dark brown color with a smallish off white head that quickly dissipates to a cap. Smells of caramel and a hint of chocolate against a bready and pilsner malt base. Little to no hop aroma. The flavor is chocolate and caramel malts with a hint of bready pilsner malt. Little to no hop flavor or bitterness. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a slick smooth mouthfeel. Decent dunkel, easy to drink, but really nothing special.

Tall can. Brown with vanishing head. Milk chocolate, wheat and light roast. Had a dull metallic flavour I’ll attribute to the can. Light sweetness, creamy, medium carbonation, crisp finish. Bland.
