On tap at Fox & Hound in Southaven, MS of all places. If you’re in the area, they have the best draft and bottle selection around (Except for the saucier, or course) Anyway, about the beer. It has a lingering burnt, hoppy flavor at the end. Not my favorite kind of beer, but I liked it. Decent aroma, flavor, and head. Nothing earth-shattering, but it sure beats a Bud Light any day!

Draft @ Schmidts, Columbus German Village. A very sweet dunkel that reminded me of the least interesting Austrian example with its plummy notes, though the mineral side of this German rendition did seem out of place. After a few sip, it really tastes pretty much like raisin bread over which you’d throw a small amount of chocolate powder. Light-medium bodied, not so easy to drink as you may think. Fair, but I would not bother again.

Canned sample. Cola coloured, with medium carbonation. Aromas of minerals, stale malts, and a bit of lemon. Flavors are of whole wheat toast, a bit of roasted malt, and a bit of red apple. Farily dry finishing, albeit somewhat chemical-like. Not nearly roasty or flavorful enough.

Can (500ml). Pours a deep ruby-amber with a large frothy tan head. Aroma’s mild, sweet, sugary and fruity along with caramel malt and a hint of roastiness. Flavour’s watery but not bad at all: Very lightly roasted malt, sweet, some nuts and a light bitter finish. A bit of sourness in there too. Light to average bodied. Not bad, it’s easy to drink and a decent effort from these guys.

I really enjoyed this. Poured from a bottle. Once I took a look and examined it, it looked like a root beer. This was my first impression. Once I tried it, I thought, "Wow. Not bad at all". Very easy to drink and smooth with no strong, bitter aftertaste. Medium bodied, rather malty.
