Pours like your typical dunkel, middle brown with a off white head. I think this beer is a little underrated. Lots of people have tried this in the past and simply never go back. This was a staple in my rotation when I first got into beer, and now comin back to it, I must say it holds up better then most. Bold flavors for a dunkel, yet still very easy to drink. You can get this beer everywhere, even most gas stations carry it. Add to that the low price for a 12-pack, I can get it around me for 10 bucks/per 12. Solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Backlog. On tap at the Bohemian Biergarten. Brown appearance with a tan head. Munich malts, toffee, light caramel, light chocolate and light noble hops. Light to medium body, pretty easy to drink. Solid dunkel.

Pour is a nice reddish brown with a brief cameo appearance by an off-white cap (blink and you’ll miss it). Nose is caramel, roasted grain, raisins, faint roasted nuts and grass. Taste is surprisingly water, less sweet than I expected, with a bit of dryness to the finish. Lingering roasted grain and mineral taste. Not horrible, but pretty blah to me.

Good example of style . Brown color , medium off-white head. Aroma of roasted caramel , grass , bread. Same notes in taste with hint of chocolate. Light body , easy to drink. Mild bitterness in aftertaste.

Growler from beverage world with thanksgiving diner. Very smooth. Nutty flavor with a clean finish. Almost like a brown ale. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Dark brown amber pour with two fingers of beige head, bit of lacing. Malt and nut aroma, maybe a hint of smoke. Taste has some heavier notes in in it, some coffee. Medium to heavy body, smooth carbonation.

"nice sweet aroma, fluffy head, smooth if not full mouthfeel...flavor is textbook for the style. a solid effort all around and incredibly enjoyable when in the mood for malt."

Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head with just a little lacing. Aroma is of sweet caramel, toasted bready malts, coco, light sour fruits, and some light grassy hops. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma but a bit more robust. Has a medium body with a semi watery mouthfeel and a mostly sweet, medium finish. Overall, a decent Dunkel that is pretty drinkable.

(M.A. 09 janv. ’15) (1245-190914)
