Bottle. Looks identical to coke when poured, same head and everything, even the lacing. Aroma is odd, like cold spinach. and stale Highlife. Flavor is malty, with the slightest hint of raisins, like it’s trying to be a doppelbock. Standard sort of hazelnuttiness you get out of most brown beers. Finishes a little sticky, but the back end nuttiness is good. Body is way to this for the flavor; this feels like malt liquor. Disappointing, as I actually like the verum. Aroma does get better (brown sugar) as it warms.

Pretty decent. Has a nice toast malt aroma. Taste is a nice chocolate and roasted malt, good body, easy drinking.

Draft at Bru Craft. Clear very dark copper brown pour with a quickly diminishing foamy head. Aroma somewhat muted when cold but tastes like a (albeit a bit too shallow) proper German Dunkel. Gently dark toasted pale malts. Notes of bramble berry, sweet breads, liquorice, liver, pumpernickel, black plums, olives, ouzo, smoked meat. Great notes but none is strong enough to feel over the top. Not the best Dunkel but a truly great Dunkel.

On tap, poured a clear brown hue w/ small diminishing head. Moderate roasty coffee aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a light to moderate bitter finish. Tastes are almond skins, medium roast breakfast blend coffee, hazelnut and light brown sugar notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear reddish brown tea colored with a thin white ring. Slightly oily texture with clingy lacing. Nice strong aroma of sweet barley malts. Body is very light and thin but flavor is very refreshing and tasty. Tastes like toast. Nicely toasted, not over roasted.

Pours a cloudy dark brown with little white head. Aroma is of wheat, liqiourice, roasted malts and grapes. Tastes of chocolate, wheat, liqiourice, and light plum. Has a smooth light body with average carbonation and a light chocolate aftertaste.

(333ml bottle, Beijing) Aroma: Nice nose of coffee, malt, wood. Appearance: rich brown color, off-white thick head. Taste: Coffee, grass, herbs, a bit medicinal, barrel, roasted, burnt. Palate: Quite sparkly on the tongue, crisp, tight, dry, lingering bitterness on the cheeks. Overall: Interesting beer with a decent amount of flavor and character. Not as malty as some of the heavy duty Dunkels, but that is almost a good thing. Quite roasty tasting.

Beardbeerman (312) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 9, 2016
Pours a clear cola robe topped by a timid coarse whitish head showing low retention and lacing properties. Carbonation is medium. Nose is sweet dark bread with toasted nuts. Some burnt notes of barley. Very brothy backbone, tough. Taste is nutty and sweet. Dark bread, grassy hops, faint sour, medium body and quite sharp on the tongue. Medium toasted and grassy finish. Not bad. Cheers!

Alta drinkabilidade
