I prefer dark beers, however I like to try to expand my beer horizons. This one is rather crisp and sharp. A very good summertime german beer.

Sep 6, 2008 Bottle. Decent head on pouring, and attractive enough cloudy yellow appearance. Mild malt and hops on the nose, and quite clean and crisp on the palate.

Sep 6, 2008 Ok I admit it, i have a soft spot for War Starter on draught! especially when served in the correct glass. Drank at "The Grape Vine" in Poulton Le Fylde.
This is a pale golden colour with persistent head and bubbles. nose is floral with a hint of citrus. flavour is reassuringly sharp with a nice hoppy presence and of course the trademark Corn flavour of this style of brew. Cold and refreshing as a good lager should be. In short, wonderful!

Sep 5, 2008 Pours gold into a shaker. Head immediately dissipates to nothing. No aromas. Crisp and sour/sweet honey upfront with a quick hop finish.

Aug 31, 2008 Decent pilsener. From my hotel in Orlando. Appearance is unremarkable, straw yellow with white head. The aroma is of malts, and erthy, grassy hops. The flavor is malty sweet, some hops make themselves known, and the carbonation is lively. The finish has a nice hop signature, and the beer finishes clean. Good for the style.
