DruncanVeasey (1533), Burbage, Croatia Jan 23, 2008 Bottle, as Warwick Market Ale. Murky witbier pour again. Aroma baked beans and background peppery wood. Tangily hoppy, homebrew earthy and very biscuity in the aftertaste, suggesting oats. Smoother and not as off-tasting as the BB. Bit of a mish-mash of styles going on here (intentionally or otherwise). Suspect it’s a much better beer in cask form-the beers I’ve had at the Market Tavern in Atherstone have been absolutely spot-on. Enjoyed it more than the Best Bitter, which was a partial drainpour. hughie (2059), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Nov 16, 2007 Bottle under alias of Warwick Market Ale. Slightly hazy orange amber. Malt aroma and sweet malty taste with strong hops to follow. Not the best. RichardGretton (2555), Leicestershire, Leicestershire, England Jun 22, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy golden beer with a light head. The aroma is quite fruity and the flavour is quite acidic, fruity and lightly dry. Overall a nice beer. chris_o (4393), London, Greater London, England Mar 24, 2006 Cask (handpump) at the Market Tavern, Atherstone. Golden colour. A third beer at the Warwickshire Brewery Tap (despite the fact that its not close to the brewery at all)_ and a pattern is beginning too emerge. Bags of hops but a fair amount of residual sweetness too. The hops were very pungent in this one - resinous and aromatic - and the extra assertiveness balanced the sweetness very nicely. Sadly, lack of time prevented me from testing whether the other three Warwickshire beers on tap followed the same hoppy sweet pattern.
johndoughty (1567), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Aug 29, 2004 I tried this in bottled form were it is called Warwick Market Ale.It was launched to commerorate the reopening of Warwick Market in 1999.It is a golden coloured ale somewhat similar to a light mild. The head dissapears quickly leaving a full bodied refreshing drink.Quite hoppy and easy to sup.
