Draught at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. Black with a generous beige head. A fair amount of coffee character coming through in the aroma and flavour. Mouthfeel is dry, slightly dusty and rather light. Quite pleasant.

Black with beige head.Aroma is rosted wite note of tobacco and light smoked well balanced with full body really great beer.

Tasted 2008-04-11. Pours dark, brown/black with light brown head. Aroma of coffee. Very smoky flavour. Too much to begin with, but it mellows out during the drinking. Fine, but not worth a rebuy.

Bottle. Nice brown head with ok duration. Color is pitch black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, notes of smoke and caramel with a rich strong english licorice ending.

500. Thanks, Maria! Black, with a modest, moussy, bubbly tan head. Sweet chocolate and licorice on the nose. Medium body, a bit grainy, some active carb in there. Big forward flavors: roast, licorice, chocolate, chalk, and dark tree fruit. Kind of a free-for-all in terms of the different flavors they let in, but interesting and fairly satisfying and refreshing.

Bottle. Medium brown black color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, coffee, light smoke, light licorice. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (200907)

Very dark, brown head. Almost imperial nose. Roasted notes dominate, ends on a roasted fruity note as well.
