Bottle. Brown with a beige head. Metal aroma with some caramel notes and some spices. Also some diacetyl apparent. Flavour is roasted malts, some spices but mostly butter and a slight sourness. I’d be terribly disappointed, had I thrown my money after this and expected it to ´be a christmas treat.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 Maria (9559) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 1, 2008
It’s a beautiful copper brown beer with a nice head. I drink it 2008.01.17 and best before is 2008.08.08, so there shouldn’t be any problems! But the aroma is sour with weak notes of clove, roasted malt, sweetness and hints of orange peel. Unfortunately the flavour also is sour, not as in really badly infected yet, but bad enough. It has some terrible vegetable notes, weak notes of clove, and towards the end weak notes of orange peel, the rest of the experience is just thin. I wonder what went wrong here?

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 faroeviking (10281) - FAROE ISLANDS - JAN 14, 2008
Bottle. Last sales date: 108.08 (?). Pours a hazy deep brown colour with a huge mostly diminishing beige head. Aroma is a bit sour with toasted malt, caramel, spices and slight chocolate. Bit sparkling mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with a dominating strange sourness along with some spices and toasted malt and some bitterness. The finish is short and sweet with plenty of sourness. I do not think this beer was meant to be a sour ale....... clearly ingected. Darn... this beer hurts my stomach..... The label is nice with a barrel organ on it.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear, dark, orangey brown with an off-white head. Spicy aroma of cardamom, cinnamon and perhaps a little orange. Medium body with lightly sweet caramel and spicy notes. And underneath it all lurks a rather distinct, infected acidity. Finishes dry. 110108

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Grovlam (4137) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 13, 2008
Bottle. [Great two day tasting session @ Papsoe] Small creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Light cloudy amber color. Aroma of heavy bubblegum, fruit, citrus and almost apple like notes. Over the palate heavy sour notes and what seams like roasted malt. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sour flavor with light bitter and sweet notes. Sour bitter and very strange finish.
