UPDATED: AUG 22, 2016 Hazy dirty gold colour with no head. Smells like sulfur and a bit of wasabi. Taste is metallic and savoury. Fucked up. The worst beer I’ve ever had in my life.

Undrinkable. Hands down the worst beer I’ve ever tried. Almost couldn’t get passed the stale wasabi aroma. Couldn’t handle more than two sips.

Pale yellow cloudy colour (may be because if travalled some km by motorbike) with a thin white head without retention. Aroma is hot radish. Not so much malts remains. Aroma is radish, not so hot as I expected. Dry. Not refreshing... Strange beer at all! You have to be prepared for what you are going to drink, but nor bad beer. Special!

Well... Top points for trying something new. As far as I can taste this is a standard japanese lager brewed with wasabi. It's interesting for sure. Aroma is - umm - hot springs! So yes it smells and tastes sulfur. The wasabi is there - not overpowering but definitely weird. Otherwise medium carbonation and rapidly dissipating head. Light easy drinking. Wouldn't take it home but works with japanese food.

Aroma: light barnyard, honestly smells like a weak fart, seared beef. Visual: pale yellow, lasting small micro creamy head, clusters of fast activity. Taste: sweet, thin barley malt, light bread, only hints of wasabi, but nothing really there. Palate: thin bodied, thin taste, fizzy-burpy CO2, soft bitter hopped finish, bloated belly. Picked up in a Hakone gift shop before the lake cruise on the Mt.Fuji Sunrise day tour.

Hazy, light yellow pour and thin white head. Strong wasabi aroma, not much else. Taste also has wasabi, slight bitter finish. Generally it’s very weak and feels like watered down. More of a curiosity than anything else.

350 ml bottle from Hakone. Pours hazy whitish yellow with a white foam that dissipates in seconds. Aroma is pure wasabi, can’t really smell anything else and that wasabi is not subtle. Yuck. I gather myself and take a sip. Well, it tastes a bit like wasabi, has a wasabi bite and very skunk overall feel. Maybe some malts but a weak body that is completely overshadowed by stale wasabi flavour and raw vegetable taste. One of the worst beers I have ever had, not able to force this down… In general I like when brewers get creative with beers but the end-result should still be drinkable. This one is not. Maybe I would think different if I paired it with some very salty food?
