The fossil record proves one thing: that beer alone is responsible for the evolutionary leap from ape to man. This malty Amber is our tribute to Charles Darwin, evolution and perfection. Enjoy!

Draft at the Ogden Raptors. Pours clear amber with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like bready malt, cutrus hops, a little nutty, and a little corn. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like nutty, bready malt, corn, and a hint of citrus.

Bottle. Yellow amber pour, with a thin head. Light caramel, watery, thin, stale bread, and a bit grassy. Zzzzzzzz

Wasatch Evolution has a thick, bone-colored head, a mostly clear, bubbly, straight-up amber appearance, and a good amount of lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is of sweet, bright, pungent, medium-roasted malt and white bread crust. Taste is of those elements, as well as lemon, tea, tannin, low-level bitterness, and mountain water. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Wasatch Evolution Amber Ale finishes crisp and mostly clean. RJT

Caramel and cardboard with a touch of hops. Weakish body and all around pretty boring.

crappy crappy beer. Bottle, just stale caramel malts, nothing else, i drained poured out of disappointment. No aroma, thin watery mouthfeel, no finish, llow-moderate carbonation.

On draft at both my hotel in SLC and at the airport. Pours a medium, well, amber, clear with OK head. Aroma is caramel malts, lightly citric and floral hops. Flavor matches. More malty than hoppy. Inoffensive. Not bad, but didn’t really get the juices flowing either. Probably exactly as intended.

Bottle in Moab.

Given the name, I pretty much had to try this one. And it was better than expected. Deep amber pushing ruby, modest head. Kind of strange aroma -- quite yeasty -- but not unpleasant, just interesting rather than cookie-cutter tame. Flavor is biscuit malts, yeasty. Hops play a decidedly supporting role. Starts good and gets better and better as I go through the glass. I’m getting into these 4% Utah beers. It’s like they beat the beer states to the session beer thing. Slap a "artisinal session ale" label on this thing and every hipster in Seattle would be giving it something in the high 3s or even low 4s.

From 12oz bottle to shaker. Pour is a nice Amber color, thin head. Nose is buiscuity, malt, light hop, bread. Taste is light bodied, sour with touches of sweet. Slight carbonated finish. Nothing special, just ok.
