The fossil record proves one thing: that beer alone is responsible for the evolutionary leap from ape to man. This malty Amber is our tribute to Charles Darwin, evolution and perfection. Enjoy!
Food Pairings: Small mammals, invertebrates.

Caramel and cardboard with a touch of hops. Weakish body and all around pretty boring.

crappy crappy beer. Bottle, just stale caramel malts, nothing else, i drained poured out of disappointment. No aroma, thin watery mouthfeel, no finish, llow-moderate carbonation.

On draft at both my hotel in SLC and at the airport. Pours a medium, well, amber, clear with OK head. Aroma is caramel malts, lightly citric and floral hops. Flavor matches. More malty than hoppy. Inoffensive. Not bad, but didn’t really get the juices flowing either. Probably exactly as intended.

Bottle in Moab.

Given the name, I pretty much had to try this one. And it was better than expected. Deep amber pushing ruby, modest head. Kind of strange aroma -- quite yeasty -- but not unpleasant, just interesting rather than cookie-cutter tame. Flavor is biscuit malts, yeasty. Hops play a decidedly supporting role. Starts good and gets better and better as I go through the glass. I’m getting into these 4% Utah beers. It’s like they beat the beer states to the session beer thing. Slap a "artisinal session ale" label on this thing and every hipster in Seattle would be giving it something in the high 3s or even low 4s.

From 12oz bottle to shaker. Pour is a nice Amber color, thin head. Nose is buiscuity, malt, light hop, bread. Taste is light bodied, sour with touches of sweet. Slight carbonated finish. Nothing special, just ok.

Bottle. Biscuity caramel malt and light spicy hops aroma. Hazy amber with a moderate ivory head. Bready caramel malt and spicy/grassy hops flavor. Body on the light side of medium, lively carbonation. Malty easy drinking beer.

A- pours a crystal clear textbook amber with a solid off white head with good lacing. S- a little dirty with watery caramel malts and cereal grains, brown sugar, honey and floral scented room deodorizer are all that really stand out. Some wall flower grasses and hops. M- light to medium clean body with a hint of tackiness. Decent carb. T- watery malts and caramel mixed with aspartame sweetener. Honey is very weak. Middle turns towards the dirt and hops with grasses and bitter pith. More water and minerals on the end.

Bottled 355ml. -Finally! The most expected beers have arrived! Well, the story goes like this - my friend "Dragan the Drot" went to live to USA, Salt Lake City, so I’ve asked him to bring me some Wasatch beers when he would come to visit Croatia. So, he came here some four years ago, but have brought no beers. Then, a week later, his girlfriend came too, and he said she was bringing the beers. But, again no beers - they said she was thirsty and drank them while waiting for plane to catch....hmm?! Some time after that, he has sent a package - I though this is it, but no, he has sent a bottle of tequilla! (very good tequila but never mind). And now, after six years of waiting, my friend has come to visit again and this time he has brought a bunch of Wasatchs beers plus one Squatters! Heeeellll Yeaaahhhh!!!
Now something about beer itself...Clear amber coloured, small airy off-white head, dust and caramel in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel and quite watery with nutty notes in the finish. Short sweet finish. Expected better one.

tap at McStiff’s - Pours light amber with a lingering off-white head and good lacing. It has a mild caramel malt aroma. The flavor is lightly toasted caramel malt with some very mild hops. It’s light and refreshing, but needs something more.
