COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Highly controversial beer is actually a straight forward, well balanced malty amber ale. Tettanger hops provide a subtle spicy character, which balances out this well rounded ale. 1999 Bronze Medal Winner!

Bottle. Vegetal caramel malt aroma. Amber with small head. Lightly sweet caramel and cooked vegetable flavor. Not so good.

Bottle: Red-amber with a short, beige head. Peppery caramel scent. Taste is breadheel, caramel, salt, slightly vegetal. Not bad at first, but the green bean aspect gets stronger as it warms. A little odd.

12oz bottle pours a lightly hazy amber with some thin head. Aroma is standard, malt, bread crust, root veg, some mild orange. Flavor is malty, a flick of lemon, sweet brown sugar, carrot. Clean finish. Pedestrian.

Looked like apple juice in a glass. Taste was palatable but nothing too great. Bready notes, some fruity esters, meh.

Bottle: Medium depth copper pour with a thin ring of sandy head. Nose is malty and sweet… lightly bready. Same translates into the taste, but with more emphasis on bready. Gets a little dry too. Faint florals and dandelion. Finishes a little metallic. OK.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2013 First Amendment, Polygamy and Evolution are some of the most iconic beer names in the home of Mormon. I had this on tap at the Wastach brewery Pub in Park City. Nice and malty, with fruits (peach, pears), a metallic tone and a rather well-behaved hoppy bitterness at the finish. It could have been less cold and the beer poured in a too messy manner. Too bad I cannot find it in bottles.

Draft in a hotel in Utah. A nicely balanced, yet watery ale with notes of Bartlett pears.

Malty malty aroma. Taste is malty just sweet no balance. Carbonated mouth feel nothing special here. Average malty amber it needs to evolve ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Caramel, bread crust, and fruity aroma. Nice balance of caramel and bread crust malt flavors. A little hop spiciness.
