12oz bottle-pours a thin white head and copper/gold color. Aroma is slick, sweet/bitter, citrus, aromatic hops. Taste is the caramel medium malt is just as assertive as the hops, slick, sweet/bitter, earthy, spicy hops. Mild easy drinking, malty PA. Mild carbonation.

Bottle: Pale gold color, thick white head, awesome lacing. The nose is very clean and fresh and hoppy, light sweet malts and a nice herbal character. The flavor is good, lightly hoppy, clean malts. Solid body. Could use a bit more umph but overall it’s pretty good. Nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 douglas88 (3483) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - AUG 18, 2010
Big time thanks to Mikey for the hook up. Thanks to Dave as well, this is retired part of Utah brewing history and I at least got to try it. Of course, we need to keep in mind old pale ales degrade and change. Nevertheless, it is a honor to try it. Pours a wonderful copper color with a large white foamy head. The aroma suggested hops were still there; fruity, with biscuit and caramel. The flavor is similar; the slow atrophy of father time has brought the hops to a tea-like herbal state, sweet, biscuit, some fruit. Quite drinkable and nice. I feel like a archeologist sometimes with beer, and this was quite a dig. Very smooth and not sour or off in any way.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - AUG 16, 2004
Bottle.brought back from Utah. One of the big beers (over 3.2%) from Utah. The taste is sweet and malty balanced with a sweet sticky hoppiness. Medium body and taste leaves you wanting more.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20 puzzl (3071) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 23, 2008
Bottle from rkuhnel. Blech, this beer is a mess. First off, it was a gusher. Not expecting that out of a pale ale, I wasn’t prepared with a glass, or a sink nearby, so I did the old hand-on-top-of-the-bottle trick. That worked somewhat well, but hand could not keep up with the pressure, and I sprayed the occasional beer super-soaker across the apartment as I made a beeline to the sink. Good times.
Aroma is very biscuity and noodley. A touch of hops. The flavor is somewhat lactic, kind of thi, biscuity, and tastes slightly infected, which wouldn’t be a surprise considering the gusher. However, it is very easy drinking, so that’s a plus.
