COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark, medium bodied ale offers the drink-ability of a much lighter beer. The inviting chocolate and malty flavors fade into a slightly dry, silky smooth finish. Why have just one? 4.0% alcohol by volume. • 2008 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, North American Brewers’ Association • 2008 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, World Beer Cup • 2006 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, North American Brewers’ Association

When I lived in Salt Lake 7 years ago, this was the best beer around. I guess... I don’t really need to write more. I’m emotionally attached, but when we brought it to a fellow ex-Mormon’s party here in Texas, I was shocked how like muddy water it tasted. That’s what you get when making a Porter that’s legal to sell in Utah (at 4% alcohol), but back in the day I was mighty thankful for Wasatch Brewery, our local alternative to Natty Light.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a translucent brown with a beige head of foam. Aroma has some chocolate and peanuts, a lot like peanut butter actually. Creamy peanut butter and chocolate taste. Creamy mouthfeel. Nice job.

12oz bottle. Aroma is of dark malt. Appearance is a very dark brown, with barely any tan head and some lacing. The taste starts out a dry dark that turns sweet and ends dry and dark. Palate is dry and dark. Overall, a decent porter. Would buy again... If i did in the first place. Ha! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Friend from work brought me back one of these from Utah, thanks John! Pours a clear dark brown with a short lived head. Aroma is good, roasty malts, dark chocolate, coffee. The flavour follows suit, nothing complex, it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s a solid brew, a nice session beer me thinks.

Bottle. Pours with a nearly black hued body and a medium size somewhat lasting off-white head. Aromas are of bready, toasty, and nutty malts, some dark fruit, tobacco, dry chocolate. Bland. Flavors are ashy, chocolate, watery, roasty, nutty, grainy, a bit astringent, medium malty, lightly raisiny. Bland, watery, a bit messy. Lively carbonation, thin body as expected for a 4% by law beer.

This beer smells better than it tastes. The smell was great but the taste didn’t live up to it. Still, an easy drinking porter and one could definately drink several.

On tap at some sports bar in St George Utah. on Easter Sunday. (Has signed Bart Starr jersey here.) Pours an decent black with a creamy brown head that quickly dissipates. Nose is roasted malt and molasses. Very creamy on the palate. The flavor is of dark roasted malts with a touch of molasses and carmel with a finish of cream flavor. Not much hops detected. A pleasant porter.

Bottle at circle d. Mucho extra points for the slogan and label. Why have just one? Clear dark reddish. Malty nose. Decent though light body. Decent depth and grit to palate.

18 mar 2013, bottle. Orange/brown, clear. Nose is toasted bread crust and maybe slightly metallic. Thin body and mildly fizzy. Acidic black coffee. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is the best part of this beer. Thin. But good for this gravity. Thin head. Once again for session beer pretty good. Chocolate carbonated goodness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle - small foamy head, very dark brown/almost black color, rich roasted malt aroma and flavor, mild chocolate notes, a little flat - guess it would be hard to live up to the name of this one, but overall it’s fair
