Fatehunter (1178) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - MAR 6, 2012
Poured into a pint glass. Two fingers of tan head on top of a caramel colored beer. Minimal lacing. Roasted malt smell; that’s it and it’s nice. Watery taste, roasted and a little burnt malt and a bit astringent at the end. Thin body, almost no carbonation. Higher marks overall because it’s only 4% with a descent flavor and smell profile.

On tap on nitro, poured a muddy brown hue w/ thick creamy head. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a faint bitter finish. Tastes are nutty almond and chocolate. Medium bodied. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a brown color with off-white head. Coffee and roasted malt mainly on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more roast.

GIJOE (574) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - MAY 31, 2014
Pours a reddish-black with a thin, tan head that dissipates quickly. Some lacing. Nose is dark-roasted malt with notes of chocolate. Taste is semi-sweet. A bit thin for me. Lively carbonation. Decent porter.

Bottle to pint glass. Dark brown pour with no head or lacing. Nose is roast, tiny bit of chocolate and not much else. Taste is much the same but with a slight bitterness on the back. Finish is decent. Just okay. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

tap at McStiff’s - I tried polygamy and it was kind of a letdown. The beer pours near black with a small tan head. It has a mild, chocolate led aroma. The flavor is sweet with some roast character and chocolate malt. It’s weak for a porter and rather watery. It’s alright, but a little underwhelming.

Dark brown, medium body. Chocolate, malty flavors. Smooth. Not a huge fan of porters, but this one isn’t bad

Tap. Pours a reddish brown with tan head with nice lacing. Thin and smoky. Nose is of lightly roasted malts and stale coffee. Taste is similar with some vanilla. Watery mouth feel.

Tap pour @ Owl Bar. Dark mahogany in glass. Thin head. Medium nose. Toasted malts, implacable nuttiness, wet stone and hints of mocha. Taste is more neutral. Chalk, vague ash, dried plums, and basic coca. Very smooth, if not that interesting. Good.
