Sammys (428), Portland, Maine, USA May 24, 2004 Good color, thin head, little to no lacing. Roasty aroma and sweet up front, lingering maltiness and roasted flavors, but nothing too complex. Fairly enjoyable though.
stchloe (136), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 7, 2008 Its a very funny concept and marketing campaign. I’d rather not have one at all really.
It’s only 4%, basically no taste, and a slight barley in the after. Utah, stop. travita (738), Lewisville, Texas, USA Sep 3, 2008 Black in color with a good sized creamy tan head. Smell is coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts. Taste is yeasty with the coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts. nbutler11 (164), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 2, 2008 Pours a rich black from the bottle with a ruby tint when held to the light. Smells of cocoa and toasted malts. Tastes primarily of bittersweet baking cocoa and caramel. Very earthy mouthfeel and well balanced. SDbruboy (1822), San Diego, California, USA Aug 30, 2008 12 oz. bottle, from Beers of the World pack, meh. Poured an opaque ebony color with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasty malts, bitter chocolate and herbs. Flavor is fine, deep roasty malts, more of the bitter chocolate with some ripe dark fruit and herbal notes. Medium body and lightly tingly carbonation. Not bad, quite drinkable. unclemike (351), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Aug 26, 2008 A very pleasant porter, especially considering that its 3.2 beer (I realize the description says 4%, but I’m sure I read somewhere that its 3.2%). Nicely flavorful. No aroma to talk about, good or bad. Head was fairly non-existant when I poured it into the glass.
