COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you’re going to sin, sin big. With 8% alc/vol and a creamy richness, this brew has developed a serious cult following. Imagine that – a cult following in Utah?!
Food Pairings: Front of cow, back of cow, rattlesnake.

Bottle thanks to Douglas88 Pours out a dark amber topped with a small tan head. Aroma of grain, sweetness, a little pit fruit and wet malt. Tast more of the sweetness. Brown sugar, spice, and a little milk chocolate. A nice brew from Utah no less.

ChainGangGuy (4448) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JUL 1, 2009
Appearance: Pours out a clear, dark amber body with a frothy, (just barely) off-white head. Smell: Sweetish, grainy nose with vague notes of fruit and spice, as well as some alcoholic wafts evident. Taste: Grainy from the get-go and moderately sweet. Light fig fruitiness. Again, it’s still quite grainy, husky even. Spicy, earthy hops with a light bitterness. Touch of peppery alcohol. Final kick of toasted grains in the warming finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-low carbonation. Drinkability: Thanks, but no thanks. A tad lacking for a doppelbock, really. I’d prefer something more bready, more richly melanoidin laden instead of all this sharp graininess.

hayduke (3531) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 1, 2009
This 12 oz bottle poured a rich and clear deep copper color with a robust light tan head and very nice lacing rings as it settled. Nose of caramel malts with lots of other aromas of nuts, ripe fruit, and even some smokiness. Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is slightly sweet with some yeasty fruity flavors. You can detect the alcohol in the finish. Pretty darned good.

Thanks douglas08. Pours a translucent dark copper with a thick creamy light tan head. The aroma is nice and sweet, malty, caramel, bready, raisiny, some peat. Flavor is sweet and bready, nice malt character, peaty, mild leafy hop flavor, some alcohol warmth showing through. I enjoyed this. Thanks Douglas!

JMerritt (1856) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - JUN 11, 2009
Bottled. Dark ruby amber in color with a large, off-white head formed of medium-sized bubbles. Really nutty hazelnut aroma, underlined with peat, soy sauce, and what I swear is rice wine vinegar (it sounds bad, but I dug the aroma). Sweet, peanutty flavor with moderate caramel and some smoke, alcohol noticeable underneath it all but not overly so. Finish is a little stale, notes of old bread and cardboard.

Thanks to Douglas88 for this bottle. Beautiful clear ruby color with a good beige head. Aroma of roasted caramel with a touch/hint of smoke. Full body with near creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet roast caramel, but there are notes of coffee and smoke. And hints of fruit. Finish is moderately sweet, and there’s not much hop bitter. But the whole thing is a feast for the mouth.

Bottle at Park City location. Color was a reddish auburn. Nice looking. Aroma of fruit, bread, caramel and apples. Flavor was sweet and fruity; yeast, bread and caramel. A solid body. I wish they could brew higher alcohol beers all the time.

Thanks to Douglas88. 12oz twist-off bottle. "Utah will never be the same". Aroma of toasted malts. Nice caramel. Flavor is a deep creamy, malt complexity. Lighter in bodied than most Doppelbocks. Very bold, sweet, creamy texture. Nice.
