COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This German-Style lager is a big beer. A very big very big beer. We think it will earn some "Big Love" from the folks in the Land of Zion. We predict once this beer is discovered "Utah will never be the same". We ask, as with all our products, you enjoy this brew with care and caution.

Tap at the Hey Merchant, Houston, 21/05/13. Mahogony brown with a medium light tan head which retains well. Nose is dark toffee, dark fruit, malty, sugars, light boozey notes. Taste comprises dark toffee, a little booze, dates, raisens, dark malts, toasted brown bread. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet boozey finish with a pinch of spice. A good take on the style !

12oz bottle in a stem glass. Pours brown with a light beige head. Aroma of caramel and nutty malts with hints of toffee and chocolate plus light hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer, but not the best of the style.

Pours bright mahogany into a stem glass. Off white head recedes leaving no lacing to coat surface. Plum and chocolate aromas. Soft with chocolate-covered pit fruit front to back. Thin lasting dusty finish.

12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a pint glass. Served cool. Aroma: Hazelnut, cocoa, basically this smells like Ferrero Rochers smell. Awesome stuff! Appearance: Translucent red/orange. Even with an aggressive pour, no real head. Taste: Hazelnut, coffee, dark, dark chocolate. Some fruit. A mild soy sauce-y flavor. Bittersweet. Palate: Rich. Medium body; nice presence, but not oppressive. Flavors linger a little bit. Overall: A lot better than what I was expecting! Really nice aroma and flavors going on here; not your typical caramel-y / malty doppelbock. The 8% abv creeps up on you! Really enjoyed this one.

2nd bottle at the Circle D. Pours a clear amber with minimal head that quickly dissipates. Prominent roasted malt and mild caramel notes. A little boozy. Moderate carbonation, medium bodied. Mildly sweet up front with mild bitterness in the finish. Pretty good dopplebock.

At circle d in bottle. Clear dark red brown. Nose is subdued. Dark sugar dominated by brown sugar. Palate is better. Rich and layered. Mmmm.
