Jul 26, 2008 Sampled a bottle at the Bayou in SLC.
Dark ruby/crimson brew, with a thin head with little clumpy islands in the center of my glass.
Dark caramel malts well balanced out by a firm alcoholic nose.
Carbonation is vivid and prickly, taste is quite similar to the smell, with the caramel just enough in the forefront to subdue the alcohol heat, which in turn brings all the flavors together. After drinking that many low ABV Beers, the mouthfeel on this one was quite powerful and I enjoyed it a lot.

Jul 23, 2008 Courtesy Secret Santa. Thanks! A standard doppelbock. Aroma was sweet dark malt, caramel and a hint of roastiness. Pour was a nice hazy medium brown with amber hues and a one finger off white head. Taste was a little stale but pretty good. Sweet and caramel malt, molasses and roasted toffee with a dry aftertaste. Hides the alcohol wonderfully.

Jul 9, 2008 Bottle courtesy Ibrew2or3. Pours copper with a one finger off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, and a hint of roasted malt.Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good.

Jul 5, 2008 Dark brown with hints of ruby around the edges. Roasted biscuity malt with caramel and toffee sweetness. Invisible alcohol and medium palate. Nutty, sweet, good.
