3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Beerenberger (824) - Fischer, Texas, USA - OCT 31, 2012A malt forward aroma with hints of dark fruit. A translucent dark brown pour with a mostly none existent off-white head. Taste is sweet with some toasted malt and bready notes. Medium bodied with minimal carbonation. Overall, not the taste bomb some double blocks are, but very drinkable and enjoyable.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jkwood04 (2407) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 9, 2013
12oz bottle in a stem glass. Pours brown with a light beige head. Aroma of caramel and nutty malts with hints of toffee and chocolate plus light hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer, but not the best of the style.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 wildbeercat (136) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - APR 21, 2013
12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a pint glass. Served cool.
Aroma: Hazelnut, cocoa, basically this smells like Ferrero Rochers smell. Awesome stuff!
Appearance: Translucent red/orange. Even with an aggressive pour, no real head.
Taste: Hazelnut, coffee, dark, dark chocolate. Some fruit. A mild soy sauce-y flavor. Bittersweet.
Palate: Rich. Medium body; nice presence, but not oppressive. Flavors linger a little bit.
Overall: A lot better than what I was expecting! Really nice aroma and flavors going on here; not your typical caramel-y / malty doppelbock. The 8% abv creeps up on you! Really enjoyed this one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Caytinator (595) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAR 20, 2013
12oz bottle. Dark copper color, clear, small head. Telltale doppelbock aroma, astringent, rich, complex. Still doesn’t beat my "Paulaner Salvator", primarily because it’s a little too bitter, and it’s not warm enough despite the high alcohol content. Alcoholic, toffee, malty, slightly sweet. Beginning taste is very good, but the aftertaste isn’t awesome. Decent, though...I’m partial to this style.
