Pours a clear-amber, approaching brown color with a hint of white head. Aroma is sweet raisin with lighter toasted malt notes. Flavor is same as the taste and quite sweet with some cherry tones.

Can from HomeBrewStuff. Solid, complete doppelbock, not outstanding, but a great example of the style. Mostly clear brown, small airy head. Nice malty sweetness, drying out towards the end, but still maintaining some pleasant swett taste. Tasty stuff.

Bottle. Brown with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel and bread. Sweet flavor with cereal flavor with a light nut in the finish. Light berry hints throughout. A nice sipper that is a bit too sweet.

12 oz bottle. Pours light ruby brown with a medium creamy off white head that goes to a thin film and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is toasted bready malts with a little fruit.

The flavor is sweet toasted chocolate and caramel nutty malts with some fruit and a little smokiness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice doppelbock. A bit too sweet for me.

Caramel nut aroma with roasted malt. Brownish red body with a minimal head. Smooth roasted malt taste with clean caramel malt base. Warming on the palate. Decent finish that is clean, sweet with a hint of nut. Well done for this style.

bottle. Poured deep reddish-brown with a thinning tan head. Aroma is slightly burnt with an alcohol note. Medium body, average carbonation, a bit of a syrupy mouthfeel. Taste of roasted malt, sweet caramel with vanilla notes, and a touch of warming alcohol at the end.

A quite nice double bock. Pours a deep Amber with a tan head. Smells of malt and vanilla. Taste is sweet, with a bit of booze, vanilla and a sweet marshmallow finish. Had in the bottle at Zion Pizza and Noodle.

12oz bottle poured into a Stem glass at 40°. Color is a dark clear amber with mellow carbonation and a thin tight head. Aroma is sweet with scents of malt and fruit. It has a medium body with a creamy mouth feel. Flavor is sweet with candy sugar and dark fruit then a note of hop spice and bitterness. After taste is a continuation of the sweet with just enough bitterness to leave it with a slightly dry feel. Overall it’s a good Doppelbock, easy enough to drink and not too sweet.

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Pilsner glass From: Utah State Liquor Store #06 in Logan, Utah Price: $1.89 Purchased: May 2, 2015 Consumed: May 12, 2015 Misc.: Enjoy by Aug. 23, 2015 Poured a reddish, brown, amber semi-clear color with four fingers of khaki tan, frothy head that immediately started dissipating. Minimal wet lacing on the sides of the glass. Poor retention. (Sight - 3.75) Smelled booziness right up front, followed by caramel, plum, roasty malts, honey nuts, toffee and dark red apple. (Smell - 3.88) Taste was slightly better than the nose, coming in with rich, creamy, roasty malts, caramel, roasty nuts, plum and very light chocolate. The 8 percent ABV is hidden. (Taste - 4.25) Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Smooth finish. (Feel - 4.25) This beer really grew on me. Maybe I just enjoy the style, but I was really digging it. Wish I had more than one. (Overall - 4.13) 4.13 92 A-

Bottle from shop in Springdale UT pour dark copper with minimal tan head. Nose burnt caramel, slight earthy, and an underlying hint of charred meat. Taste caramel malt, sweeter character, hint of molasses and butterscotch later. Some lingering aftertaste.
