3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2012 Deep copper, clear, tan head. Aroma of bready malt, toffee, light chocolate, spicy and resiny hops with a hint of grassiness (this is a 2012, seems hoppier than prior years). Flavor is similar with resiny-piney hops, underlying malt of bread crusts, toffee, light chocolate. Medium-full bodied. Great winter warmer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Single bottle purchased from a Utah State Liquor Store in Kimball Junction, Utah on 11/02/2012. Colour: Dark brown with red hues and low head with lots of lacing. Nose: Heaping mounds of toffee infused malt. Hint of maple syrup. Chocolate dipped cherries. Shortbread. Total sugar-based nose. Taste: medium-high sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. Layers of varying degrees of cocoa percentages. Espresso shots. Hearty malt again displays maple mid-late palate. Good for a bottle or two, but to sweet to enjoy over an entire evening.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Kinda hoppy, kind of meh. Not what I’m looking for to drink by the fire. Fortunately it was over 80 in Houston this weekend so it wasn’t so bad.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Berry aroma, very nice! Out of a bottle (not my choice...) so no idea about appearance. Immediate grape and malt flavour with caramel followed by a strong hoppy finish. The wife described it tasting like a ski cabin and I can understand that. Not my usual style but complex.

Tap at Freakin Frog in Vegas. Muddy brown pour with a foamy cream head. Vanilla and caramel aroma. Smooth palate. A bit of citrus hop comes through on taste. Delicious.
