COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wasatch Winterfest is a rich amber ale with caramel malt flavors and a large hop presence. Brewed with the finest Northwestern pale and caramel malts then generously hopped with Columbus and Amarillo hops. Crafted in the spirit and style of the Sierra Nevada Celebration. Inspiration? "This new seasonal was brewed to warm you through the cold winter months! Our Winterfest Ale makes a wonderful compliment to an epic day on the mountain, and the perfect companion around the fire. It’s our toast to Utah."

Bottle; Pour is murky dark amber with a fine bubbled khaki head in this glass that retains fairly well, actually. The nose is far heavier on the hop profile than I would expected. I don’t know if they spiced this brew but it has that feeling, along with dark fruits. It is bitter on the tongue - and very heavy on the piney hop notes. The flavor profile is a bit sweet as well, with a lingering spiciness that seems to reveal itself throughout the sampling. I didn’t find this one very balanced, I found it thin on the backside - and I felt like the hop profile was too dominant for a "winter" brew.

This brew poured up dark chestnut brown body with a thin foamy head with great retention and lacing effects on the glass. Aromas of toasted malts, toffee, caramel, chocolate, and a hint of hops. Flavors of the same with all being well-balanced and enticing one to savor slowly. Medium-bodied with a nice dry finish with just a touch of hoppy bitterness on the end. Excellent for the wintertime by the roaring fire but definitely one that can be enjoyed anytime of the year!

The beer pours a reddish-brown color with a tan head. The aroma is very malty with some caramel and toffee notes. There is also some dark fruit and quite a bit of alcohol, which is kind of surprising since the beer is only 7 percent. The flavor is hoppier than the aroma. I get some pine and grass notes from the hops and also some toffee and caramel malt. There is also some dark cherry in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. While there is quite a bit going on, the flavors don’t really seem to meld all that well together and as a result, the beer falls a bit short.

Pours a dark copper. Great caramel, malty aroma with hints of dried fruit. I love winter brews and this one was no exception.

12oz bottle from Gription79. Pours dark rusty brown with small tan head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, spice, and piney hops. Flavors of toffee and caramel malts, bit of earthy spice, and faded hops. This one is probably pasts its prime, but still drinkable.

Sampled at Texas Beerfest. Pours a clear amber with a small beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a raisin malt and fruit. Medium mouthfeel with a swet raisin and light hop. Very easy to drink, very good American strong ale from Wasatch.

Clear, dark, reddish-amber with a moderate cream colored head that laces nicely. Aroma of piney and herbal hops, nuts, hay and caramel. The taste is a malty, but not really sweet, backbone with a moderate bitterness throughout and a noticable alcohol presence at an abv that isn’t really that high. Medium bodied with a long bitter finish. Somewhat unrefined, but definitely a good beer.
