COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wasatch Winterfest is a rich amber ale with caramel malt flavors and a large hop presence. Brewed with the finest Northwestern pale and caramel malts then generously hopped with Columbus and Amarillo hops. Crafted in the spirit and style of the Sierra Nevada Celebration. Inspiration? "This new seasonal was brewed to warm you through the cold winter months! Our Winterfest Ale makes a wonderful compliment to an epic day on the mountain, and the perfect companion around the fire. It’s our toast to Utah."

Bottle at bockyhorsey’s pad. Pours a deep amber color with a beige head. Looks and smells a bit like a dark IPA - loaded with grapefruity hops. Smooth in flavor with a note of figgy pudding. Nice, but the sweetness grows to be a bit cloying.

12oz bottle–pours a rich light tan head that laces and deep red color. Aroma is sweet toffee-medium malt, some pine hops, dark fruit. Taste is toffee-medium malt, secondary bitter herbal/pine hops. Thanks to Wasatch for trade with Joe-jwc215 and me.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The smell is caramel, sweet, spices, and decent. The look is clear, dark amber, with an off white head. The taste is malts, sweet, and caramel.

(12oz. Bottle) pours mahogany with off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, nuts, wood. Taste is bitter with malt sweetness balancing things out. Medium bodied with oily texture. Finish is bitter. There is a woodiness to this beer that I find distracting. A decent beer otherwise.

Bottle; Pour is murky dark amber with a fine bubbled khaki head in this glass that retains fairly well, actually. The nose is far heavier on the hop profile than I would expected. I don’t know if they spiced this brew but it has that feeling, along with dark fruits. It is bitter on the tongue - and very heavy on the piney hop notes. The flavor profile is a bit sweet as well, with a lingering spiciness that seems to reveal itself throughout the sampling. I didn’t find this one very balanced, I found it thin on the backside - and I felt like the hop profile was too dominant for a "winter" brew.

On tap @ Freakin Frog. Hazy coppery amber, medium white head. Toasty caramel lightly spicy, lightly fruity. Moving on...

Bottle. Nose is citrus and lavender. Pours a dark amber-gold with little head. Flavor isn’t as sweet as a winter warmer; a definite fresh hop bitterness reminds me of Sierra’s Celebration. Good, but nothing particularly ’wintry’ about it.

Brilliant copper red color with fleeting tan foam. Tea leaf, spicy caramel, pit fruit aromas. medium body with average co2. lightly sweet caramel, light pit fruit flavors with a tea leaf astringency to balance---not bad.
