RCL (1075), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Sep 29, 2008 OK oktoberfest. Fairly one-dimensional flavor, lightly sweet with a dry, lightly bitter hop finish. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Dec 21, 2005 Draught pint at the brewpub, 12/18/2005. Pours a lightly chill-hazed amber-auburn with some deep beige tones and a small beige head, moderate to low retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of honey, maple, light vanillin and a touch of earthy, lightly toasted grains. Flavor begins with light fruitiness (peaches, nectarines, tangerines) and touches on a sweeter note, with vanilla and light maple syrup-like notes. Toasted grains add a deep earthy feel to it and overall the breadiness usually present in the style is quite underdone here. Light, flowery, leafy hops bitterness and flavor, no alcohol apparency. Texture is rather loose, though the body is at least not thin. Carbonation is low, but lightly engaging at times. goz (359), Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA Oct 26, 2003 Pours a medium amber, with a small head that leaves just a touch of lacing. Aroma is slightly bready, but mainly dominated with caramel and toffee, with a hint of hops. Flavor is caramel, toffee, some breadiness, and finishes with a small whiff of hops. Medium in body, quite nice. Ma_Beer (421), Leominster, Massachusetts, USA Sep 21, 2003 Looks pretty much like a typical deep reddish amber brew. Not impressively malty either. Again, as seems the trend with many American brewers these days, they tend to junk up everything with TOO much hops. Dude, let the malts have a little more say in the matter! Fairly sweet and "flowery" finish. Overall though, this was one of the nicest brewpubs I have visited recently in the area, and I will definately go back!
