ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Aug 11, 2006 Draught pint at the brewpub on 8/11/06. Rapidly vanishing head is surprising, as I know this has tons of wheat in it. Maybe the overnight protein break degrades the protein too much? I really have no idea though. A softly hazed rosy-peach-golden body is warm-toned and light, with gentle carbonation rising. Lacing is left in blotchy patches all down the glass, however. Good dishwashing, if nothing else. Pungent wheat is backed by light bubble gum and just a shot of bitter hops in the nose. Very light nuttiness and maybe some clove, but it is very low on the phenols. Medium strenght, with no alcohol and just light pils malt, seemingly quite attenuated from the nose, but yeasty enough. The flavor is well-attenuated, with just a soft honey fluffiness that combats the heavy wheat dryness and slight sourness. Some pinches of pungent grassiness and herbal notes from the hops sit in the back of the throat, while bubble gum esters bulid up. Low banana/clove and just a refreshing summer session ale. Medium-light body, low to moderate carbonation, some wateriness, but intended no doubt as a session beer.
