COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Slightly darker and more body than Totem, Hops lives up to name with a powerful conflagration of hop flavor. This IPA would keep on interplanetary expeditions. For all of its hop persona it remains a balanced beer, with an underlying malt-sweetness to help soften the Hop impact. 13° Plato... 63 IBU's ... 6.2% ABV

I got this at the brewpub in Waltham. Was told by my server it was fresh. Absolute palate crusher. In a good way. Almost tasted like spicy licorice. One of the more extreme hop experiences I’ve had in a while. Had to switch up to water after the first pint. 63 ibus seems a bit modest. Or it could have just been the choice of hops or that I was drinking it new. This was a tough pint to drink, but as a hop lover, it was tough love. I could barely taste the bleu cheese on my burger that came out after I finished the pint.

Amber pour. Citrus hop aroma, citrus and spicy hop flavor, but not too bitter.

(beer tasting @ Monty’s Krown - Rochester, NY: bottle - 22 oz) Hazy amber color with a thick white head. Grassy and hoppy citrus aroma, much like a good solid IPA. Flavor has a nice hop bite at the start with a dry and slightly astringent middle and a dry and slightly piney finish.

Draught) Pours a hazy orange body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, herbs, and grass. Flavor of herbs, grass, grapefruit, pine, and tobacco.

Pours a clear deep golden with a well-lacing white head. Has a sweet caramel and fresh grapefruity hoppy nose. Starts with a light sugary caramel maltiness with a good balance of fresh resiny hops before a crisp bittersweet finish. A pretty good IPA.

Pours light golden in color with a thin white head. Restrained hop aroma, not much of an explosion. Little caramel sweetness added on the tongue. Palate was thin. Decent enough.

Light orange smell. Clear amber, thin head. Light orange flavor. Not impressive at all.

Draught sample at the brewpub. Pours copper/gold with a nice white head. Aroma and flavor is bitter, citrussy, pineapple, resiny, spicy. Enjoyable.

Enjoyed at the brewpub. This batch came out 5.9% a.b.v. and IBU 68. Medium yellow, that leaves a lace trail. C-hop aroma. A good bitterness, like a 1.5 times IPA.

Lubiere (9765) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 11, 2009
A golden amber ale with a thin off white head. A restrained floral hops and caramel malt. In mouth, a more British IPA with dry malt, astringent notes, and grapefruit. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 12 2008.
