Lighty crystal-malty nose. Golden-orange color. Malty and minty flavor...strange really. Notes: Beer Advocate Belgian Beer Fest (Boston) ’09

On tap at Watch City, Waltham MA, 5 November 2009. Like the Bee Jesus, this was also gold and also fruity. Some bubblegum. Sweetish. For me this exhibited the usual US saison problem - too much ester, not enough rustic farmyard. All a matter of personal taste of course but I found this clean and pleasant but lacking in interest and complexity.

(Draught at BA’s BBF’09) Poured golden and hazy with small white head. Aroma was mostly spicy with light sourness. Medium bodied palate with medium carbonation. Tasted of spiciness, sourness, malts, sweetness, hops, bitterness, fruitiness and coriander. Spicy aftertaste.

On tap, BCTC 2008. Pours a hazy dark amber with a moderate foamy off-white head. The nose is dominated by big spices, coriander and orange peel mostly, some bready malt. Rather hot peppery flavor with just a bit of farmhouse character sneaking through past all the spicing. Light to medium bodied with fizzy prickly carbonation. Not my ideal take on the style, I like the spicing to be minimal and the flavor to be derived from the yeast more.

Tap at BCTC. Darkish brown pour. Light dandelion aroma with a pils base. Thin, watery body has a nice, peppery spicy taste. Notes of almond. Not too bad.

I did not like this very much. Very estery, kinda fake flavors. Tastes a bit like flowery soap.

Pint @ brewpub. Noticed ABV is now listed at 6.34%. Good nose, sweet & spice. Coriander, caramel, raisin, plum. Clean reddish orange color, small head that faded quickly, Ok lacing. Good flavor. Like aroma. Makes me think of some Xmas brews. Caramel, toffee, honey, corriander, maybe some basil, fruity plum, apple. Medium body, syrupy creamy mouthfeel, sweet sticky finish. Nice, has a few hints of the Saturnalea Solstice Ale as far as I can remember.
