esjaygee (721), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 15, 2008 On tap at Water Street Brewery in Milwaukee. Clear brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of light fruit, caramel, light hops and soap. Taste of caramel, fruit, nuts, sweet malt and light fruity hops. Body is over carbonated and syrupy. phishpond417 (1374), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 2, 2008 Pours a dark brown body with a medium sized tan head. nice retention in the head. A very smooth beer with plenty of chocolate and nutty flavor. Light roasted malts and cinnamon on the nose. Skyview (2777), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Apr 20, 2008 On draught at the brewery/brewpub in Delafield, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and off-white ring. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, some flowery and citrus hops, a touch of dark berries, and some soy sauce. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of raisined caramel malt, some tart berries, flowery hops and a touch of toffee. Finish slightly metallic from the high alcohol with a sweet raisin-like caramel aftertaste. MIBRomeo (1883), Wisconsin, USA Oct 7, 2007 a light brown color w/ a small tan head. Carmel and syrup in the aroma, overly sweet, palate was pretty avg. Flavor was ok for a water street brew, but nothing special, mostly sweet carmel & syrup, a touch of toasty nearly nutty flavor... not much else. JAF737300 (733), New York, New York, USA Mar 27, 2007 I thought that this was an excellent effort. It did not have as much legs as most doppelbocks but it did have a playful side to the palate.
