Not bad, but would like a little bit more flavor out of this beer. Still not at all too bad.

On tap at the Delafield location. Poured deep amber with a well-retained cap of rich beige head. The aroma picked up dark fruit and caramel maltage with a quite prevalent malt vinegary presence throughout.. OK, but it hinted at a problem. The flavor found dark fruit, caramel, and molasses at the core, again with abrasive vinegar and fruit skin sharpness throughout.. dried up at the finish, along with some residual sugars and sourness. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation and ugly sourness on the palate.. rough and not rewarding.

On tap at the Milwaukee location. Big ol dimpled mug. Dark brown with a small tan head. Some toffee, fruit, and butterscotch in the aroma. The flavor also has toffee along with caramel, sweetened ice coffee, and dark fruit. Light carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Decent.

Draft in Milwaukee. Served in large mug. Deep amber brown color. Sweet dark sugar aroma. Intensely pungent fruity tastes, makes me wonder if the weiss yeast has been pitched into it. Mellow carbonation at best. Minimal distant hop balance. Finishes watery. Drinkable, but underwhelming.

On tap at Water Street Brewery in Milwaukee. Clear brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of light fruit, caramel, light hops and soap. Taste of caramel, fruit, nuts, sweet malt and light fruity hops. Body is over carbonated and syrupy.

Pours a dark brown body with a medium sized tan head. nice retention in the head. A very smooth beer with plenty of chocolate and nutty flavor. Light roasted malts and cinnamon on the nose.

On draught at the brewery/brewpub in Delafield, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and off-white ring. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, some flowery and citrus hops, a touch of dark berries, and some soy sauce. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of raisined caramel malt, some tart berries, flowery hops and a touch of toffee. Finish slightly metallic from the high alcohol with a sweet raisin-like caramel aftertaste.

a light brown color w/ a small tan head. Carmel and syrup in the aroma, overly sweet, palate was pretty avg. Flavor was ok for a water street brew, but nothing special, mostly sweet carmel & syrup, a touch of toasty nearly nutty flavor... not much else.

I thought that this was an excellent effort. It did not have as much legs as most doppelbocks but it did have a playful side to the palate.

Draught downtown. Medium-dark brown / cola body with red hints, light tan head. Malty caramel and nut aroma. Some chocolate. Flavor was predominated by nutty chocolate, like hazelnut. Smooth and a good drink.
