Ughsmash (2958), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Mar 12, 2008 On tap at the Milwaukee location. Poured near black with a short cap of deep tan head that settled quickly. The aroma picked up molasses and dark chocolate laced with some raw sugars.. brown sugar warmth filled up the back of the nostrils, and the booze was well-masked. The flavor found sweeter, well-roasted chocolates, molasses, and vanilla with light coffee and woodsy bitterness surrounding.. wam on the back, and quite smooth. Sweet, roasty, and dry on the palate with a medium-plus body to it.. warm final impression. Looking at the rating history, they’re getting better with this one. LtJudge (353), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Jan 24, 2008 Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head.Has a great coffee and roasted malt and slight chocolate aroma.Taste matches aromas with the edition of a slight hint of hops in the finish. Nice coffee aftertaste. Thanks for sharing Ubamartian! brewblackhole (1222), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Jan 24, 2008 Heavy roasted aromas, some chocolates and coffee, monsterous roasted taste, with lots of bakers chocolate and coffee and hop bitterness in the finish, smooth at first got a little harsh towards the end. Came from a growler ,so I didn’t get the heavy carbonation spoken of previously. Water Street does make good stouts, they have the best stout on the Summerfest grounds during Irishfest. Thanks Ubamartian ubamartian (149), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Jan 20, 2008 On Tap. Pours a thick black with decent white head. Aroma is roasted barley, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, very complex. Needed to warm a bit for the flavors to come through. Chocolate, vanila, coffee, oats, and much more. Starts sweet, blends into the choclates, and a creamy overtone, then finishes with a roasted bitter. Dry finish with a good lingering flavor. A very decent stout. Going to get a growler of this for the game today if I can. shendrix (435), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jan 11, 2008 Ah...a rich, deeply black brew with a thin suspicion of a head. Pouring across your tongue you taste oats, chocolate malts, a touch of alcohol dryness, and a nice dark fruit bit of sweetness. Get one!
