had at hardliver festival in fremont. this poured with a big head and was quite hoppy for a barleywine. Might have needed more aging?

Draft at brewpub. Brown with a cream colored head. Aroma is brown sugar, light alcohol, very malty. Taste is very sweet, heavy caramel, and malts. Very little hops showing... Is this due to the shortage, more malty then I am used to in a barleywine, a bit overly sweet.

snifter @ beverage place barleywine bacchanal - now i will admit, this did have an old wookie/dirty feet kind of aroma to it; but it was also very tasty; creamy flavors of malts, dates and brown sugar; dark copper with slight head

On tap at the 2007 GABF: Pours a clear amber bronze with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and light fruity notes and a hint of tartness. Body starts with some sticky caramel sugar and mild cherry tartness toward a more bitter, earthy grapefruity finish.
