Draft. From notes. Bready with grains and light caramel. Drinkable, but not great.

tmoreau (2424) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - OCT 22, 2013
On tap at the Grafton location, and dispensed to a dimpled mug, displaying a clear, coppery color with a decent layer of off white/light tan head foam that lasted a bit, and clingy spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was simply light toast and some caramel sweetness. Light to medium bodied, with moderate carbonation, moderate hop bitterness, and fair maltiness. Basically sessionable.

On tap @ the brewery in Milwuakee. Medium brown with a minuscule head. Sweet caramel, too sweet, and nothing else. Dirty earthy aftertaste.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2013 Tasted on tap at Water Street Brewery. A clear light brown with very little head. A light malt aroma and taste. Not much else happening with the taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Water Street. Why anyone would need to use 6 malts to make an oktoberfest is beyond me... Pours a nice looking amber, toasty and sweet malt nose, some caramel is noted. Faint herbal hops. On tasting, low bitterness, on the sweeter side. Reminds me of most American Oktoberfests, which isn’t a great thing. Sweet but dries out some in the finish. Meh.

On tap at Water Street Milwaukee, labeled simply as Oktoberfest. Dark caramel in color with no head. Roasted grain aroma is very light. Mildly sweet with caramel, toasted wheat and light butter. Very lightly carbonated with a slick mouthfeel and very watery aftertaste. Not good.

Just a bit darker than a traditional oktoberfest. Toasty and bready. Sweet and slightly malty.

Sample. Rating #51. Clear amber pour with an off-white head. Caramely aroma, light toast. Huge toasty flavor, light sweetness, but the toast is the most. (2421)

On tap at the Delafield location. Pours a clear golden amber with a near white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has notes of grain and bread with a bit of underlying cookie. Flavor has sweet grains and cookie up front with dome backing earthiness.
