On tap at Water Street Brewery. Clean sweet finish, not spicy like many other pumpkin beers. Mild carbonation, small foamy head, very drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Water Street Milwaukee. Clear golden amber with a tiny white head that is totally diminishing. A really striking aroma - much sweeter than other pumpkin ales I?ve tried - with a creme brulee sweetness atop graham crackers, whipped cream, and nutmeg. Moderately sweet flavor is dominated by allspice and nutmeg, but no sign of earthy pumpkin. Weak body. Showed tremendous promise at the start ... could be truly top notch with some tweaking and addition of more pumpkin/squash characteristics.

This pumpkin beer is unlike any other pumpkin beer I’ve had. Most pumpkin beers remind me of a weiss. This one is more like a sweet brown, with a strong honey flavor and sweet pumkin aroma. I look forward to this every year, and they never seem to make enought of it.

On tap at Water Street Brewery. Clear amber with a thin off-white head and no lace. Aroma is faint and of malt, light spice and mild pumpkin. Taste of malt, faint pumpkins, mild spice with a pumpkin aftertaste. Smooth but a touch bland.

On tap at brew pub, pours a clear light amber with a light white head, there is a slight pumpkin and vanilla aroma, the taste is overall more vanilla rather pumpkin and spices, not very balanced in the flavor, there are WAY better pumpkins out there than this one. Nice try.

Pint at the brewpub on 10/15/10 and again on 10/17/10. Clear orange, almost pink pour with a light pink head. Aroma is cinnamon, ginger, sweet malt and something that I can only describe as vanilla sugar. Cinnamon flavor with more vanilla sugar and a crisp (although somewhat thin finish). Not what I was expecting and certainly not like any beer I’ve ever had, but I really like what the vanilla flavor adds.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2011 Thanks to JaBier for sharing a growler at the Horror Movie Marathon on 10/23/10. Pours a clear orange color with a medium thin white head that recedes quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Vanilla and spices in the nose. Medium body with flavors of malt, ginger and vanilla extract. The finish is sweetly spiced with a cinnamon/vanilla aftertaste. Above average overall.

Dark red-brown, off white cover. Aroma is sweet malty, heavy sugar, caramel, light spicing. Taste is more caramel, malts, sweet, very little if any detectable pumpkin pie spicing.

On draught at the downtown Milwaukee Water Street Brewery location. Pour a clear copper amber colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of multi-grain malt with pumpkin and a heavy dose of butterscotch. Taste is light bodied, soft carbonation with flavors of butterscotch, some light pumpkin pie filling and wheat malt. No nutmeg, cinnamon, clove or any other pumpkin spice compared to most other pumpkin ales. Finish is watery, crisp with very little pumpkin aftertaste. One of the lightest pumpkin ales I’ve tried.

I had this as part of a sampler at the brew pub. This was so good that I had to go home with a growler, which is more than halfway gone just 24 hours after my visit (my lady helped me out a little too). This beer tastes like pumpkin pie, very sweet pumpkin pie smell with a great full bodied finish. This is hands down the best pumpkin ale I have tried, will be hard to beat this one.
