2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewpub. pale cloudy orange beer with thick white head. Herbal hop aroma, fresh and grassy tasting. Malts are underdeveloped for my liking. Very bitter grassy finish. Not a huge fan of this particular hop juice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Murky golden appearance, mostly lasting white head. Dirty water reminiscence is not only from the looks, but also from the rooty and soily scents emanating from this typical PNW hoppy ale. Orange, earth and grapefruit perfumes dominate the not very tasty malts that nonetheless provide a thick palate. Sweaty, dry and ultimately not so bitter. Not bad, but Iíd certainly prefer tastier malts.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy and rusty orange. Big underlying sweetness (sugary fruit, caramel syrup) throughout. Malts were a little sticky, but good. Citrusy and rich hops, with a flowery, plant-like bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
GABF í05. Cloudy bronze color. Very hop-spicy aroma: melon, orange flesh - glaciery. The flavor has a ton of PNW citrus - apricot, grapefruit, green stem over a nondescript caramel malt. Resinous finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Hazy amber with a big foamy off-white head. Citrus aroma. Nice citrus flavor with a huge caramel malt backbone. Lighter bodied than expected, but full flavor. Just didnít quite come together.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 24, 2007 Draft at the brewery
Glowing golden yellow color, murky. Tart, sweet and scorchin mandarin orages, fresh grapefruit (an almost perfect resemblance) - very sweet, sticky, VERY punchy, almost unbearable, but just manages to be on the good side. I’m very impressed. The finish is punchy, bittersweet grapefruit juice. Overall it has a very nice mandarin orange scent, with some lime notes hidden away as well. Light bodied, which is nice: not too syrupy or heavy, with a great use of hops. These guys know what they’re doing.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Water Street head brewer Skip (formerly of Boundary Bay Brewery) brought a couple kegs to the annual April Brewís day in Bellingham and both of them were just hopped to high hell. Iím wondering if thereís a big ass tea bag full of hops in the keg, because this tastes absolutely like nothing other than grapefruit and grass. Itís hard to imagine what malt may be lying under there, and I imagine this batch could easily have been over-hopped, but I think Skip may have been trying too hard to make a killer brew for his former place of residence. Just over the top.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy golden amber hue. Big citric, woody aroma. Very bitter, with lots of woody hop notes. Just a hint of bready malts to provide some balance. Another tasty hop tea from this brewery.
