COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Previously brewed at DuBocq (Nov 2013)

This traditional Belgian beer finds its origin in 1815 at the time of the battle of Waterloo. Its old fashioned brewing process from malt and hops finely selected gives it a strong, tasty and vigorous character. Delicious fragrance of fresh yeast outlined by scents of fruit. Light bitterness with a touch of caramel and roasted malt. Smooth beer with strong personality yet in harmonious balance.

Poura hazy/blurry brown, low head, strong alcoholic smell, smell is also slightly sour. Taste is full-bodied, a lot of carbonation and a pleasant sour afyertaste, slightly burning down your throat. Very pleasant beer!

Een biertje dat mij net als de tripel-versie niet helemaal kon bekoren, dan zijn er betere te vinden

Bottle. A reddish dark brown beer topped by a dense, light beige head. Dried fruits, dark sugars, cedar wood, raisins, some maltyness and a faint touch of alcohol. A bit sweet on the palate maybe, but it’s not sticky in any way. Dried fruits, caramel, dark sugars and raisins. Some bitterness too. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting finish. Pretty nice this one, tasteful and Belgian in a wonderful way. Could be a bit more pronounced though. 140717
