On tap. Dark brown with off white head, nearly beige. With creamy head during all time. Aroma to dry fruits, nut, toasted malt, sweet and fresh. Taste to toasted malt, caramel, no so very hopped with medium body and soft carbonation. Finish to toasted sugar and caramel.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
[330ml bottle, Appellation Wines, Edinburgh] Dark, nut brown pour with a thin white head from the bottle, reduces quickly to a lacing. Rich, malty aromas, plenty of Demerara sugar on the nose, along with a nutty component. Flavours are pretty rich, but it’s very nice – sweet caramel, toffee, walnut and dark stone fruit. Plenty of alcohol on the finish

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Dark amber-brown color. Carbonation keeps rising, making the tan head stick straight up. Little bit of lacing left behind. Slight sour and caramel aroma. Bit of an alcohol tinge. Not much left in the aroma department. Kind of lacking, but nothing very off-putting. A little bit sweeter tasting than the aroma would lead you to believe. Caramel and a slight vanilla. Malty. Dry and bitter at the end. Not bad. Not good enough to actually purchase again, but not bad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Served in it’s original stone goblet, making it look even more medieval then it tastes. Really nice dark brew, with a tan head that last long. Aroma of different spices, some coriander, white pepper and cinnamon. Flavour is sweet, herby and goes down really well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl bottle. Pours an opaque/prune colour with steady gentle bubbles and a good creamy head. The nose has apples and perhaps raisins or prunes. The taste is of more prunes, then toffee which seems to melt into a lemon sorbet finsh. The palate has a big structure, a creamy texture and a fairly fresh finish relative to the body. Overall, this is a rich but balanced beer.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark copper with a stupidly huge, growing tan head.
Rich spicy aroma with lots of golden syrup and brown sugar. Incredibly sweet. Noticeable cloves and cinnamon play a large part too.
Similarly sweet flavours, the golden syrup and brown sugar really dominate. Some hot alcohol follows through making for quite a cloying beer.
Too much carbonation.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
330 ml. bottle. resin, floral aroma. Full body and a rich, flowery taste. medium finish. there’s something almost porter-like in this beer which I enjoyed.
