Previously brewed at DuBocq (Nov 2013)

Waterloo Tripel is brewed on huge amounts of pilsener malt. Aromatic Saazer and Spalter hops are added, but to no further extent than to give it a bitterness equal to a pilsener which gives more room to the beer’s sweetness. The beer is fermented with Du Bocq’s original yeast strain which is responsible for the delicate, spicy expression. After maturation and filtration the beer has a secondary fermentation in the bottle which causes its slight cloudiness.

Potabile.

330ml Bought at Sams Club (Walmart). Cloudy orange color with a nice head that keeps a thin lace, aroma is fruity with notes of orange, honey, citrus and some apricot. Flavor is spicy and malty. Mouthfeel is dry spicy and fruity with a medium duration. Nice one!

Decent triple. Served in a beautiful stone cup. Some lemon and peach, light bitter finish, not too biting. Bottle at olivier in utrecht.

Pours out golden coloured, a good sized white head that holds nice, and sticks nice. First smell was like "wtf? Pils?", but after smelling some better, more hops come up and some spices. Also the warmin alcohol comes trough. Taste is a bit plain, not bad, but nothing special. A bit earthy sour-sweet, the biterness is not overpowering for sure. Better taste than expected, but nothing special.

Pours a hazy yellow with a big white head. Typical Belgian aroma of citrus, fruits, yeast, light malts, sweet spices, especially coriander. Flavour is similar, rather sweet. Its relative lightness makes it more of a Belgian Blonde than a Tripel.

Bottle, Rehills, Ncl. Very aromatic, with just faint banana sweetness and pleasant lemon citrus aroma. Lovely golden appearance, effervescent on the tongue, with a a warming sensation in the finish. Well rounded, plenty of body.

Geserveerd in een stenen beker, dus geen uiterlijk te beoordelen. Smaak zoet, fris, beetje weeige smaak van citrusvruchten en hop. Had iets meer koolzuur mogen hebben.

33cl bottle. Pours a clear golden with a snowy white head. Nose : fresh, yeasty with a delicate floral notes. Little caramel malt aromas pushed away by overall freshness. Fragaria scents ? Sip : Yes, there is a very nice fruity fragaria like notes. A bit citrus going into sweet pomelo. The body is creamy. Very brief sweet start develops a great citrus/fragaria little sour start followed quickly by appreciable bitter ending. Yes ! It’s my kind of beer!
