| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2008 Slightly cloudy, medium amber pour. Butterscotch aroma. Flavor is much less sweet than the aroma, but still has a nice softness to it with butterscotch and hay. Palate seems a bit thin, though. jhumphries69 (722), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 19, 2008 Bottle. Poured hazy gold/yellow with medium-sized white head. The aroma was slightly grassy and full of sweet malts and pear and banana esters. The flavor was grassy with some esters, bready malts, amnd light residual sweetness. The bitterness at mid-palate and finish was balancing and not strong. The finish was a little dry with some residual sweetness, soft fruit, and subtle grassy hops. The mouthfeel is crisp and medium in body. Overall, an excellent tripel. I had this at a St. Bernardus beer dinner at Fifth Earl Market the other night and found this one to be better than the St. Bernardus Tripel.
