indybigtom (14), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA May 25, 2008 Cloudy golden pour with an aroma of fruit and some citrus. Tastes of bread with some malt and a touch of sugar. Nice bit of hops at finish. A creamy but thin mouthfeel with nice carbonation. jujubeast6000 (772), Houston, Texas, USA May 23, 2008 (bottle): Pours a golden amber color, very cloudy, foamy white head, big bubbles. Alcoholy grapey aroma. Lightish aroma. spicey, watery, alcohol. Maybe banana. Light grape taste. Sweet. Some wheat, but nothing else. DMRz (218), Durham, North Carolina, USA May 21, 2008 Dark tan/gold with a persistent white head. Aromas of candied pears, apricot, and light malt. Flavors of yeast, caramel malt, and sweet fruit. A fine tripel. RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA May 21, 2008 Slightly cloudy, medium amber pour. Butterscotch aroma. Flavor is much less sweet than the aroma, but still has a nice softness to it with butterscotch and hay. Palate seems a bit thin, though. jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle. Poured hazy gold/yellow with medium-sized white head. The aroma was slightly grassy and full of sweet malts and pear and banana esters. The flavor was grassy with some esters, bready malts, amnd light residual sweetness. The bitterness at mid-palate and finish was balancing and not strong. The finish was a little dry with some residual sweetness, soft fruit, and subtle grassy hops. The mouthfeel is crisp and medium in body. Overall, an excellent tripel. I had this at a St. Bernardus beer dinner at Fifth Earl Market the other night and found this one to be better than the St. Bernardus Tripel. smith4498 (825), Miami, Florida, USA May 14, 2008 Pours hazy golden yellowwith big white head. Bread and banana aromas. Sweet fruity flavor with yeast, banana and some citrus. Medium body with spritzy carbonation and a slightly creamy mouthfeel. A decent tripel. BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA May 13, 2008 A very good tripel. Flavors are a blend of floral and fruit. Crisp and slightly hoppy. An overall great balance of hops and malt though. Pours golden brown with a tall frothy head. Bits of yeast are typical. ansermadide (496), Kyle, Texas, USA Apr 28, 2008 12oz bottle, bought from Whip-In in Austin. Pours a cloudy, murky orange with a trail of sediment that topped off the hefty white head into my .4l snifter. The head dissipated fairly quickly, leaving a thin, but solid and bubbly lacing. Smells sweet, maybe a hint of citrus. Honey, perhaps. Palate is out of this world. Sweet aftertaste that nearly numbs the entire tongue while my tastebuds do their little dance. Flavor is definitely fruity, same as the aroma but of course more pronounced. Almosty like a fruit medley. Otherwise, standard for a tripel, much like my last homebrew, actually. Just a heck of alot better. Sweet, but not too heavy. I like muchly!
