piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jan 19, 2008 Bottled sample via radiomgb, consumed about a month before the best before date. Dark gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aroma of green apples, riesling grapes, and a hint of caramel. More caramel in the mouth, along with notes of black pepper, yeast, mild citrus, and sherry. Moderate bitterness, and fuller bodied than most tripels that I’ve had. Slightly oxidized, but still in pretty good shape. DenverLogan (421), MileHi, Colorado, USA Jan 13, 2008 Gold color; lingering small head. Aroma of amber malt, nuts and green apples. Rich body of amber malt, honey, yeast, grains, slight caramel, citrus, spice, white pepper, earth, floral hops. tympanic (50), Alabama, USA Jan 8, 2008 Poured into chalice from 11.2oz bottle, minimally refrigerated to the printed temperature suggestion, 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit. Fizzy, large bubbles rising like champagne to a frothy head. Taste, color and aroma reminiscent of apple cider. Soft and mellow when swallowed, but leaves an exciting tingly aftertaste. Tasty and enjoyable Belgian Tripel. Dedollewaitor (3622), Odense, Denmark Jan 6, 2008 75cl bottle . Pours hazy yellow gold with a white lasting head. Strong yeast fruit & spices in the aroma & taste. Filling body. LOng end. Great Tripel! Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Jan 6, 2008 75 cc bottle. Light amber with an OK head. The aroma is sweetish with hints of malt. The flavour is sweetish and yet fresh with notes of citrus, especially in the finish. I like it’s balance, it’s nice and smooth, and IMO more like a blonde - but nice! CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Dec 30, 2007 Pours medium to light orange color forming a decent white foamy head. Aroma is of vanilla malts, yeast, and some hop flowers. Flavour is of St Bernard’s usual tripel.....still very good beer, would love to try on tap. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Dec 30, 2007 750ml bottle @ RBNAG’07. Almost clear orange body with some floaters and a decent white head. Aroma of sweet malt and castor sugar (marzipan?). Quite sweet flavor with a yeasty/fruity freshness. Complex and nice. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA Dec 20, 2007 [bottle] Clear amber color with a dense white head. Pale malt aroma and good yeast presence. Flavors are sugary malt, although the sweetness is somewhat restrained, banana and fruit. Spicy, herbal hop finish.
