drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Dec 16, 2007 A fairly ideal tripel. Fruity. Banana. This bottle sat for awhile in my stash for some reason. It shouldn’t have lasted that long. Another great St. Bernardus. gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Dec 16, 2007 Bottle at RBNAG 07. Golden / Orange colour witha white head. Aroma is sweet, yeast, banana, malt, citrus . Nice beer. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Dec 13, 2007 Cloudy light amber with a frothy white head. Good triple smell of spicy hops and pale malts. Medium body with a fizzy, lively mouthfeel. Strong taste is mostly dry with grainy, biscuity malts and spicy, earthy hops. A dry flavored triple, a malted martini if you will. Great stuff. 03/05/2006 crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 4, 2007 Aged bottle thanks to John from Cameron’s Brewery. Light amber in colour with floating particles. Light white lacing head. Smells of alcohol, brandy, and walnuts..? Smooth body, very smooth and very nice. Can’t taste any alcohol, sweet and thick. Slightly bitter aftertaste, but a really nice balance of all the flavours involved. One of the nicest tripel’s I’ve tried. Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Nov 30, 2007 Aroma is weak but pleasantly malty with hints of fruit - apple or pear. Color is orangy amber with a fairly thick but not persistent head. Flavor is rich, malty and fruity, with some nutty undertones and just a hint of hop bitterness. Texture is smooth and tingly, and the aftertaste is fairly fruity with just a hint of bitter and a touch of nuttiness. Very pleasing. Hammster (187), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Nov 24, 2007 750 ml bottle. Poured a clear and pretty light gold with a large frothy white head. Subtle citrus and floral aroma with some yeast too. The taste is dry for a tripel but still very fruity. A little bit biotter in the finish. A moderate tripel; better than 95% of the stuuf out there but not too good for as far as tripel’s go. Buy the St. Bernardus Abt 12 for the same price. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Nov 19, 2007 When I opened this bottle a fragrance immediately hit my nose and all I could think is "tootie fruity". I have never uttered that phrase before, because it is a completely ridiculous phrase, but it perfectly captures the initial smell of this beer. After tasting it, the beer reminds me of exactly why I like real Belgian trippels--restrained sweetness, perfect viscosity, complex floral and fruit elements. Another wonderful tripel. EHSRanders (1121), Randers C, Denmark Nov 6, 2007 Bottle. Hazy golden colour with large creamy white mostly lasting head. Fruity aroma with notes of yeast. Sweet spicy flavor.
