tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Oct 12, 2007 From a 330ml brown bottle dated 19.07.10. Pours a dense gold color with a slight white head. Light body but full mouthfeel from the carbonation. Slightly sweet pale malt flavor. Subdued estery/fruity characteristics. Late slightly dry finish where alcohol presence becomes evident. High carbonation tends to distract from the character. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Oct 11, 2007 Hazy orange with large head. Yeasty aroma with classic orange touch. Again flavor is yeasty with orange notes and finishes off bitter. Not my favorite tripel. Carlus12 (361), London, Greater London, England Oct 10, 2007 Bottle @ Beer Circus, Croydon. Finish is dry. downender (2535), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Oct 6, 2007 330ml bottle. Hazy amber coloured with a decent off-white head. Spicy yeast aroma with a touch of sweetness. Flavour was of malt with some apricots and a slightly dry finish. Very good. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 29, 2007 Cloudy orange with amedium white foam. Tones of yeast, fruit and malt. Taste of flowers, spices and hops. Medium to full body with a dry finish. garthicus (1215), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 27, 2007 Bottle, Pineapple-yeast aroma, zero head, cloudy grapefruit colour, wonderful toffee-nut-coffee flavour with a shortfinish, thanks Irishboy for this gem! RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Sep 15, 2007 Pours a cloudy gold with a off white head that starts falling fast. Decent lacing on the way down too. Nose is sweet and a bit yeasty. Typical stuff, but just right I think. Flavor is great. Slight sweetness with a spice that bites the tip of your tongue. The sweetness stays mild and is only joined by a yeasty influence, and never overshadowed. Really a smooth mix of brewing mastery I think. A lot of carbonation on the feel. It might border on being a bit much, but I think it still feels nice on the tongue. Masterfully created and continually drinkable. An amazing brew that is taking the position of one of my favorite tripels. More old school, with nothing schnazzy or wild about it, it’s a smooth and even production and another St. Bernardus piece of art. mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Sep 3, 2007 Pours a cloudy burnt orange color with a big, fluffy white head. Nice looking. Smells of thick syrupy malts, molasses, orange citrus, and mild cpice. Sweet smelling. The taste is very sweet as well, huge malt presence is right in your face. Alot of molasses and maybe some caramel flavors cover the palate. The citrus is there, but overwhelmed by malts. I liked the flavor, wasnt a typical boring abbey tripel. Solid effort.
