hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Sep 1, 2007 Bottle... Hazy, deep golden ale with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head. Fantastic, creamy retention. Breadsy, fruity nose with minimal to no spicy phenols. Sweet, subtle flavor of sugar cookie, biscuit and wildflower honey with suitable bitterness. Medium to full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Delicately sweet, fruity, breadsy finish. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Aug 19, 2007 I’m not sure if this bottle was a bit old, but it was to dark malty for my taste in tripels. I still enjoyed the beer, it just had a lot of dark fruit and rich caramel flavors that are uncommon in tripels. Spicy finish, just without much crispness, the lack of a dry finish made this feel rather heavy on the palate. Still overall a nice beer, but disapointed in its "tripelness". MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Aug 17, 2007 A Mes rate:
Bottle at Lowlander. Pale amber with a well behaved white head. Very yeasty aroma with slight hops and some baby sick. Honestly. Quite sweet and malty in the flavour for a tripel. Some sickly toffee notes too. Dryish finish. FrankJohansen (3329), Sabro, Denmark Aug 12, 2007 Bottle. Hazy golden colour with a small large white head. Aroma and taste of malts, fruits and spices. Good trippel. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 5, 2007 Pours hazy dark yellow with lots of small floating yeast and a thin head. It has a startlingly sour citrus and banana aroma. The flavor is not as sour as the aroma suggests. The malt and yeast flavors combine pretty well with the fruit notes. I couldn’t stop thinking bananas for some reason. It’s good, but in my opinion not as good as the St. Bernardus Tripel. It just seems to be lacking something that their other Tripel nails. bdigital (585), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Jul 29, 2007 Poured a cloudy yellow-orange color with a small white head. Sweet malt aroma with some spicey notes, some toffee and candied citrus. Slightly dry, sweet taste throughout. Good brew thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Jul 25, 2007 Bottle. Pours clear golden yellow with an enormous creamy white head. Aroma has a milky feel to it. Lots o yeast, caramel, spices and a little caramel. Flavour is not sour as other tripels, quite sweet with a clear malty presence, some barn, some coriander, a little vanilla and a non-existent alchol-feel. Finish is slightly warming. Great. cmr1517 (35), New Haven, Indiana, USA Jul 20, 2007 I hardly rate any beer any more but this one was pretty damn good. I love the smell and the taste. Thats all
