Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 17, 2007 Bottle. Poured amber color with a huge fizzy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate sweet fruity aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium fruity crisp flavor with a medium balanced finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a good beer. matta (1137), Tampa, Florida, USA Feb 17, 2007 Bottle was meticulously cellared since early 2004
The body is a rusty shade of gold, the head; tall, rocky and ivory hued, with a lacing draped the glass. The aroma is candy sweet but yeasty, with a hint of authentic yeast profiled tartness from what I assume is due to ageing... plenty of sweet ripened fruits; red apple, plums, dates, orange zest, and a spiced finish. An enjoyable beer, most genuine! benpickens (129), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Feb 16, 2007 Golden copper with lots of carb and a compact long lasting creamy head. Smells of spices, garpefruit, and clover. Sweet and creamy malt with a hoppy finish. thebeertourist (2751), Oslo, Norway Feb 16, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy, pale golden with a big offwhite head. Spicy and yeasty aroma with a lot of coriander. Sweet and spiced, great balance. A great trippel. KnutAlbert (3108), Oslo, Norway Feb 15, 2007 Bottled. Full taste, some sourness. Very easy-drinking, does not have the real complex flavour to make it outstanding. eyesandsmiles (179), Mission Viejo, California, USA Feb 14, 2007 The bitterness is present but could be accentuated. Taste doesn’t linger as it should. Very drinkable but not perfected. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia Jan 21, 2007 Lucky to find this bottle at Clichy’s Tavern in the Montemarte neighborhood of Paris. Pours a rich orangish brown with a mighty egg nog head. Aroma is as it should be with fruit malt, spices, banana esters, along with dirt and dust (belgian yeast). Medium bodied beer, if not a little thin. Blesses the tongue with yeast, orange, apple, grape, cardamom and cinnamon. Tasty beer. Finish is wonderfully drying from the hops and ABV. Delicious. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Jan 17, 2007 Pours hazy copper / orange with lots of carbonation and a frothy white head. The aroma has white grapes, light fruits, light banana, sweet malt and light earthiness. Medium body that is fairly slick with lots of semi-sharp carbonation that doesn’t interfer with the flavors though. The flavor starts with light fruit and banana with sweet pils-like malt and pepper and other spices. The finish is sweet and adds lushness to the existing flavors although the spices are no longer apparent. Not my favorite of the style, but still a solid tripel.
