bmxutos (161), Lisboa, Portugal Jul 11, 2006 Bottle, 33cl. Hazy amber colour with a thin white head, that lasts less than expected. The aroma is yeasty, combined with notes of flowers and candy sugar, everything very well balanced. Flavour is excellent, very rich and aromatic, with hints of orange and pineapple. Medium body and a sweet light warming alcoholic dry finish. It becomes better if served at higher temperatures than normal. reakt (938), Greater London, England Jul 11, 2006 Updated: Sep 2, 2007Bottle from Utobeer. A light tripel. Easy pour - caramel in colour with small white head. Brown sugar aroma with fruity undertones. Initial taste of vanilla develops into a light spicy rum with a long refreshing finish likened to that of a wheat beer. Highly carbonated *burp* Scuse me. Better than most tripels. This one’s a keeper. presario (2955), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 3, 2006 Small bottle. Very light sediment is layered on the side of the Orval glass. The beer is dark orange. Light head. Moderate aroma of candy sugar and tangerine. Soft palate and flavour. I didn’t notice the spice in the initial sips or finish but seemed to emerge well after. Strong pepper character. With additional sips the spice is more up front. The fruit hinted at in the aroma comes through in the flavour along with a candy sugar sweetness. A solid beer. MrEcted1 (144), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA Jun 20, 2006 Similar characteristics as their quad, but not quite as good. Pours a cloudy gold hue and presents a nice head with good lacing. Light fruits with that musky flavor you find in most good Belgians. Yeasty and a bit spicy to boot. Worthy of trying, but i’ll pick up Abt 12 over this one. Flavor:Yeast wheat,fruit,alcohol.... mj (4975), Colorado, USA Jun 8, 2006 Updated: Aug 8, 200733cl bottle, purchased at a grocery store in Antwerp Murky, pleasently soft medium orange hued body with a large-bubbled off-white head. Has a sharp and pungent nose of yeast, cloves, coriander seed, alcohol, and some sharp perfumy floral scents. Fairly sweet, moderately thick up front. Mildly pungent, mildly sharp. Fairly good overall, handles the dryness well, but is too thick and has too much of a spoiled fruit flavor. Ungstrup (14758), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 25, 2006 An unclear orange beer with a thick off-white head. The aroma is yeasty combined with notes of oranges. The flavor is sweet yeasty again combined with oranges, but also with wood. Nice body, nice triple. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA May 21, 2006 Clear fizzy light golden color with a thick creamy white head. Sweet fruity aroma. Flavor of sweet bananas and some light spice.
