Commercial Description:
The aroma of this beer is agreeably gentle and is carried by a discreet bitterness while the balance between the malt and hops relies on fruity accents and a lightly fresh aftertaste.

Pours a lacing, fizzy, white head with a hazy orange body. Aromas of bubblegum, candi sugar, zest, grass, and yeast. Flavor is about the same as the aroma. Fairly clean finish.

I bought this on sale today for $3.18 but I didn’t notice it was dated best by 01/06/07! Oh, well its Belgian and will probably still be interesting. I poured this extremely slow because there was a shitload of sediment. This beer looks really nice with a two inch white head and a murky dark orange body. The smell is sweet honey, The taste is a slight tinge of licorice twizzlers and fresh bread. Mouthfeel is smooth but dry at the end and the aftertaste really coats my mouth. This beer is decent but unlike the tripels I have had so far but that may be due to the age. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-04-2007 16:47:25

Murky dark gold pour with a small white head. Aroma is quite fruity, with lots of peach and nectar, as well as a definite yeast character. Flavor of light fruit, whole wheat, yeast, and a bit of a burnt aftertaste. Palate is OK, but nothing special- straightforward mouthfeel. Good brew, but not outstanding.

(330 ml bottle (best before 6/21/10) from McKean and Charles) Pours hazy goldish amber with one finger of slightly lumpy soft-looking off-white head that is pretty well-retained. Aroma of caramel, pepper, light fruit and yeast. Mouthfeel is soft, medium-full and quite nice. Very well-defined and well-retained curtains of lacing. Flavor of caramel, light fruit, pepper and yeast. Nice light smokey quality as well. Some hints of alcohol presence. Pretty tasty but seems to fall slightly short. A nice base of flavor, it just could be a little denser. Still a pretty nice tripel.

Bottle. Aroma of flowers, bread, light fruits, yellow-orange fruits, gentle blanket of spice, mild doughy yeast. Flavor continues to be wonderfully balanced with complex waves of flowers, spice, and bread coming over the tongue, all the while with a strong yellow-orange, melon-flesh, robust fruitiness. But then it’s the bread again that’s robust. Then the spice-floral combination works its magic. Superbly drinkable, full-bodied, crisp, but almost juicy too. Just a magnificently well-rounded beer, impressed the hell out of me.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a small ring of white head. Aroma of sweet fruits (apple, pear, fig), applesauce, light spices. Flavor is yeasty/bready initial with apple skins and light fruits in the finish. Palate is a touch heavy, but overall this is a nice tripel with easy drinking. Enjoyable! 8/4/8/4/15 (3.9/5)
